Bottle Caps and Golden Bottle Caps are the best friends of Pokemon Trainers that have reached the endgame, and want to put their Pokemon through Hypertraining, raising their IV’s to the maximum possible. And since in Pokemon Legends Z-A there’s no breeding mechanic, this is the only way to obtain Perfect IV Pokemon without a hitch.

But, Bottle Caps are quite scarce, and only obtainable through Mable’s Research and Rewards for some Missions. However, with the release of Mega Dimension DLC, there’s a new farming method for Bottle Caps that will provide players with as many of these items as they want. Here’s how to farm them effectively and in just a short amount of time.

How To Farm Bottle Caps & Golden Bottle Caps in Pokemon Legends Z-A

First, we will mention the old method for those who don’t own the Mega Dimension DLC, which consists of finishing the game and participating in the Infinite Royale. Some of the rewards for completing the final match can be Bottle Caps or Golden Bottle Caps.

This last match between the players and one of the top-ranked trainers of Lumiose can be done by traveling to Quasartico INC each time players max out their Battle Points. So, at the end of the day, it’s a slow and painful method.

Now, for the fastest new method, which is exclusive of the DLC, players need to progress further with the Hyperspace Lumiose Survey missions until 3/4-Star Hyperspace Battle Zones begin to appear.

Enter these Battle Zone Distortions (the Red ones) and challenge the Hyperspace trainers inside. Players need to look for Hologram Trainers, which are easy to spot. They’ll have stronger Pokemon, so prepare for a tough fight.

Once defeated, these trainers will have a yellow dialogue box pop up over their heads. This indicates they’re goign to give players an item as the reward for defeating them. These items can be either several Bottle Caps or a single Gold Cap.

The best part is that these Hologram Trainers reappear in the Distortion when the player travels to the center of the map represented by Hoopa’s Dimensional Portal. Travel there, reset, search for the Hologram Trainers, beat them, collect the Bottle Caps, and repeat until running out of time.

There are various things to consider before trying this method:

• Bringing Donuts with High Level and Item Power will guarantee players receive more rewards and be able to overpower Hologram trainers easily.
• There’s a limit of time, based on the Calories a Donut has. Keep in mind that Level and Calories are two different stats, and some berries grant more Calories and fewer +Levels, and vice-versa.
• Bring Pokemon like
  Lucario
  ,
  Absol
  , or
  Talonflame
  , and train them to have Speed and Atk, to end fights faster and increase Bottle Cap farming efficiency.

The most effective method to farm them really fast is to try to grab these trainers by surprise (much as in the regular Battle Zones in Legends Z-A). Players need to be fast for this, so using Pokemon like Lucario (Mega Lucario Z, especially) and Talonflame will help greatly since they have a lot of high-priority moves.
