The first Diablo 4 patch following the launch of Season 11 and the release of the Paladin is live, and it’s addressing several issues players have encountered since the season began. On top of fixing audio bugs and a glitch that caused Meteors spawned by the Essence of Hellfie to reflect Thorns damage back at players, Diablo 4 patch 2.5.1 is tweaking some of the Paladin’s skills to get them more in line with the original vision for the class. The Arbiter of Justice Ultimate Skill is in the crosshairs of this patch, but some of the changes being made to this skill are going too far.
In addition to addressing some outstanding bugs, Diablo 4 patch 2.5.1 is also launching with a new holiday event that includes multiple gifts players won’t want to miss. The Goblin Greedings event features an increased spawn rate of Treasure Goblins around Sanctuary and a bonus cache from the Tree of Whispers each time players turn in Grim Favors. However, it may be difficult for Paladin players to catch some of these Treasure Goblins, as the class’s best option to boost its movement speed has been nerfed.
The Goblin Greedings event runs from December 18 to January 6.
Diablo 4 Patch 2.5.1 Takes Away the Paladin’s Best Movement Speed Option
As powerful as the Paladin is in the Diablo 4 Season 11 meta, its one major flaw is its movement speed. Compared to another one of Diablo 4 Season 11’s best classes, the Spiritborn, the Paladin is a lot more sluggish and has fewer options to increase its speed. The standout option for Paladin players looking to speed up their character is to use the Arbiter of Justice Ultimate Skill, which grants 100% movement speed while in Arbiter form with the Seraph’s Wings upgrade.

Arbiter form gains the following benefits:
Arbiter of Justice is already a fantastic skill for Paladins running the Disciple Oath. The class’s Arbiter form is incredibly powerful on its own, as it allows players to deal increased damage. However, a major reason for this power comes from the enhanced movement speed when in Arbiter’s form that the Seraph’s Wings upgrade adds to the skill. According to the patch notes for Diablo 4 2.5.1, this speed was the result of a bug and not an intended consequence of the skill, and it has been adjusted accordingly in the update.
Diablo 4’s Paladin is Slow, But Still Has a Few Options to Increase Its Movement Speed
Players running Paladin builds in Diablo 4 Season 11 that utilize Arbiter of Justice to boost their movement speed aren’t completely out of luck. While the Paladin is one of Diablo 4‘s slower, tankier classes, it does have a few sources of movement speed buffs that players can rely on:
- Rally Skill
- Aspect of Unstoppable Force
- + Movement Speed Tempers
The simplest solution for Paladins looking to increase their movement speed after the nerf to Seraph’s Wings is to Temper a Movement Speed affix onto their Boots or Amulet using Diablo 4‘s new Temper system. This may not be ideal, since gear can only have one Temper per item now, so using the Paladin’s Rally skill to gain 20% movement speed for 8 seconds might be an acceptable substitute. Players can also use the Legendary Aspect of Unstoppable Force to gain up to 20% movement speed that is doubled while Unhindered or Unstoppable with the Paladin’s Defiance Aura acting as a trigger to become Unstoppable, but this would take up a valuable gear slot that might be better suited for a different Legendary or Unique.
