Netflix Announces New FIFA Game
A new FIFA game has been announced by Netflix. The upcoming title, which will be free to play for Netflix subscribers, is being made by a co-developer of 007 First Light.
A little over three years have passed since the last FIFA-branded game hit the market in September 2022. After nearly three decades, EA Sports’ licensing agreement with FIFA officially ended later that year, prompting the gaming giant to rebrand its soccer sim franchise as EA Sports FC. The shutdown of FIFA 23 servers in October 2025 marked the end of an era for the legacy series. FIFA stated in May 2023 that its officially licensed video games would continue, but no concrete details on these plans were shared at the time.

EA’s FIFA franchise has seen plenty of ups and downs. This list focuses on the series’ high points by ranking its best-ever releases.
Netflix and Delphi Interactive Announce First Post-EA Era FIFA Game
Two and a half years later, a new FIFA game has now been announced by Netflix. The currently untitled project will be developed by Delphi Interactive. As with other Netflix Games titles, the upcoming release will be available on Android and iOS devices. Limited smart TV availability has also been confirmed, subject to Netflix’s usual restrictions. On TVs, the game is expected to use smartphones as the default input device, while the mobile version may support controllers, as is the case with most of Netflix’s current game catalog. The new FIFA game is currently targeting a 2026 launch. With the FIFA World Cup 2026 set to begin on June 11, Netflix may seek to capitalize on the tournament’s global attention by releasing the game ahead of the event, which is jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
New FIFA Game Is Being Made by 007 First Light Co-Developer
Headquartered in Beverly Hills, California, Delphi Interactive has not released a game since its founding in 2020. However, it was previously announced as the co-developer of IO Interactive’s James Bond title 007 First Light. Scheduled for release on March 26, 2026, the action adventure lists Delphi Interactive as its sole associate developer on the PlayStation Store, Steam, and IOI’s official website. The game’s Xbox Store listing makes no mention of the California-based studio.
Our mission is simple: Make the FIFA game the most fun, approachable, and global football game ever created.
Netflix’s New Title Will Be the First FIFA Game Not Published by EA Sports
The newly confirmed title will be the first FIFA game not published by EA Sports. Netflix has also credited Delphi Interactive as the game’s publisher. The move suggests Netflix’s involvement in the project may be limited to footing the bill for the FIFA license, which EA previously cited as the main reason why it decided to stop making FIFA games. EA was most recently paying around $150 million annually for the naming rights, but FIFA was reportedly seeking $1 billion for a new four-year video game deal in 2021, thus effectively demanding a 66% yearly licensing fee increase.

The 2026 FIFA game will be exclusively available to Netflix subscribers. It’s confirmed to feature both single-player and multiplayer modes.
