Diablo 4 Fans Believe a New Class Could Be Coming Soon
Some Diablo 4 fans are convinced that Blizzard has hidden another Season 11 surprise in plain sight after the announcement of the Lord of Hatred expansion. Many believe it could be an announcement window for the next Diablo 4 class, which has already been confirmed to be on the way alongside the recent addition of the Paladin.
In hindsight, there was plenty of proof that Diablo 4 was going to release the Paladin class as part of Season 11. Many players didn’t believe it, as shadow-dropping an entire class without public testing is a potentially risky move. However, there were still plenty of gamers convinced that Paladin was coming, making it less of a surprise when it was shadow-dropped alongside Season 11 at the recent Game Awards. It was also confirmed that the Lord of Hatred expansion will feature a second new class when it launches in April, although Blizzard stopped short of confirming what it actually is. Some gamers think that the developer may have already told them when it’ll be announced.

Diablo 4 Season 11’s biggest mystery has been solved, and players will want to find out for themselves what rewards they can earn from this event.
Diablo 4 May Be Getting a Second Class Announcement in February 2026
Following the official confirmation of the Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred expansion at The Game Awards, Blizzard released a small roadmap for when players could expect certain things to be released. For example, March 2026 will see the launch of Season 12, as well as a new, currently unknown collaboration. But in response to the post, many gamers on X noticed that February 2026 has one event planned, which is blocked by an explosion effect. This led to plenty of speculation about what Blizzard has planned for February, and questions about why it feels the need to hide whatever surprise it has in store for players, whether it’s part of Season 11 or not.
The most plausible theory is that there will be a reveal for Diablo 4‘s second Lord of Hatred class. After all, it’s not a secret that it’s coming, but Blizzard has to announce it at some point. Nothing has been confirmed at this point, but there has been speculation for some time that something like a Witch Doctor or a Warlock could join the ranks of the Diablo 4 classes in the future. In Blizzard’s initial post, there is a silhouette of the new class featured next to the new Paladin, but it’s pretty much impossible to work out what it’s going to be from that. Still, a February announcement for the new Lord of Hatred class feels very plausible in terms of the timeline. That would give players two months to get excited about the class, and give Blizzard the same amount of time to show it off to fans before the expansion launches. Another shadow-drop feels impossible, as that would put it still in Season 11. That would mark Season 11 as one of the most content-filled seasons ever, and would be hard to beat in the future, but it certainly doesn’t feel like a distinct possibility.
It’s entirely possible that the February 2026 announcement is something else entirely. Timeline-wise, a Season 12 PTR could make sense. However, given the fact that neither the Spiritborn nor the Paladin were featured in PTRs, it’s unlikely that the third new class would be playable in this, either. Whether a PTR is newsworthy enough to make it onto this kind of hype roadmap (and be hidden away as a surprise by Blizzard) is up for debate, though. And with Blizzard already confirming a new collaboration coming in March 2026, another one being hidden for February feels very unlikely, too.
Following the popular Season 10 and a tough PTR period, it felt as though Diablo 4 Season 11 wasn’t being set up for success. However, it feels as though the release of the Paladin has helped swing the public sentiment in favor of Season 11 and its major changes. Hopefully it can keep this momentum throughout the season, and into the new year as Blizzard gears up to release the Lord of Hatred expansion.
