Some ARC Raiders players have the chance to claim a free in-game cosmetic item, but they need to act fast as the promotion is only available from December 11 to 31. The limited-time giveaway is part of ARC Raiders‘ partnership with NVIDIA, meaning those who want to get their hands on the Electrician Backpack: Emerald Wave Variant will need to download the NVIDIA app and have a GeForce GTX 10 Series or above to be eligible for the reward. The company also says that it is on a first-come, first-served basis, which means there is limited availability for the item.

As one of the largest manufacturers of GPUs, NVIDIA regularly partners with game studios for special, limited-time promotions. Its most recent one came shortly after the launch of the latest Borderlands game, as the company teamed up with 2K Games to give anyone who purchased a 12-month GeForce NOW membership a free copy of Borderlands 4. While a membership will set gamers back $200 for the year, it did allow anybody who was already planning on purchasing a subscription an additional game worth $70. Again, similar to the new ARC Raiders promotion, the giveaway was only available while stocks lasted, meaning there was likely a limited number of codes available.

The promotion is available from December 11 to 31 and can be redeemed via the NVIDIA app. As with many of the company’s promotions, stock is limited, so if you’re looking to get your hands on the freebie, it’s best to do it sooner rather than later.

This is just one of the many rewards being given away by NVIDIA until the end of the year. The backpack itself once again fits the post-apocalyptic world of ARC Raiders, which is something Embark is remaining committed to. With titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield often causing controversy for their “unrealistic” cosmetic items, Embark made it clear shortly after the launch of ARC Raiders that its skins and other cosmetic items won’t be “goofy.” The studio explained how any in-game cosmetics will fit within the sensibilities of how they look and fit within the world and the overall fiction of ARC Raiders.

New cosmetic items are added to the game once a week as part of its store rotation, with the latest set arriving alongside the December 11 ARC Raiders update. The patch, which brings the game to version 1.6.0, addressed some game-breaking exploits, such as a glitch allowing players to get out of bounds on Stella Montis. These changes and fixes come just a few days before the highly anticipated Cold Snap update, which will be a major free content update arriving on December 16.
