The PS Plus Extra Games for December 16 Are 100% Double Dipping, But That’s Good News for You

By newsgame

It’s early in the month, but PlayStation Plus Extra is bringing a lot to the table for December 16. In fact, next week’s fresh PS Plus lineup will be seeing doubles because the upcoming titles come in pairs, operate as double dips for subscribers, and other couplets. It’s all part of Sony putting an exclamation point on the end of 2025, which has already started.

PS Plus day one game Skate Story was recently added, for example, bringing a unique skateboarding game to the subscription service. Next week’s lineup doesn’t feature any day one launches, but it’s still a fantastic blend of games that are set to appeal to a diverse group of gamers. Between action adventure, fantasy RPGs, and kart racing, PS Plus’ Extra tier for December 2025 is going to feature a little something for everyone.

PS Plus Extra Features Assassin’s Creed, a Horizon Spin-Off, and More

  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • LEGO Horizon Adventures
  • Cat Quest 3
  • Planet Coaster 2
  • Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
  • Granblue Fantasy: Relink
  • PAW Patrol: Grand Prix
  • PAW Patrol World

Players Can Double Down on Assassin’s Creed With Mirage and its Brand-New DLC Valley of Memory

It’s been a while since an Assassin’s Creed game was added to PS Plus, but Mirage is effectively two servings in one. Those who haven’t played AC Miragfe will find a more classic take on the franchise, complete with its stealth, assassination, and parkour roots. On top of that, though, is the free Valley of Memory content update that dropped in November 2025. The Valley of Memory DLC brings a double dose of Basim’s life to PS Plus, so for those who have been curious about this game, December 16 will be the perfect chance to check it out.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is Available in Two Different Ways

  • Extra
  • Free to PS Plus subscribers with an active subscription

Not only is LEGO Horizon Adventures available through Extra, but it’s one of this month’s free PS Plus games (alongside four other games). LEGO Horizon Adventures is much different from the rest of the Horizon franchise, as it opts for a more fun-loving and lighthearted tone that’s kid-friendly while still embracing Sony’s exclusive world. LEGO Horizon Adventures may not be for every Horizon fan, but for those eager to see Aloy and friends in a fresh light, it’s a solid and laid-back option.

Save Room for Two Servings of PAW Patrol

For the PS Plus Extra subscribers with kids, December is a lucky month. Each new wave of games tends to cover a variety of demographics, and PAW Patrol: Grand Prix and PAW Patrol World are options that the whole family can enjoy on PS Plus. With the holiday break right around the corner, it’s a great time to cuddle up and play not one, but two PAW Patrol games together.

For those wanting more fantasy action RPGs on PS Plus, December is giving Extra subscribers two thrilling options. Granblue Fantasy: Relink can be played either solo or in co-op with up to four players, and its beautiful art direction, compelling world and lore, and gameplay check all the essential fantasy RPG boxes. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is also a fantasy action RPG, but its tone is far different from Granblue Fantasy: Relink‘s bright atmosphere. Developed by Team Ninja, the studio that brought Ninja Gaiden to life, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dark historical fiction story that takes place during China’s Late Han Dynasty in 184 AD. Ultimately, PS Plus is covering two huge fanbases when it comes to what flavor of fantasy they want to enjoy in December.

Cat Quest 3 and Planet Coaster 2 Have Two Audiences: The Casual and the Hardcore

On the surface, Cat Quest 3 and Planet Coaster 2 could not be more different. However, each game caters to two audiences well. If someone wants shorter play sessions that are more about vibes, they can find that in both games. If someone wants something more complex (via combat builds or management complexity), then they can do that as well. The two go well together for either fanbase. Either game could be some of the deepest or most casual games on PS Plus, depending on who you ask.

PS Plus is losing 12 games on December 16

  • Battlefield 2042 (PS4, PS5)
  • Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition (PS4, PS5)
