Balancers Boss Guide in Elden Ring Nightreign

By newsgame

The Forsaken Hollows DLC of Elden Ring Nightreign introduces two new playable characters, a new Shifting Earth, and two new expeditions. These expeditions have new Nightlords at the start of Day 3 that are fairly challenging and can cause players a lot of trouble, especially if they do not know all the weaknesses of the boss and how to fight around their deadly attacks.

Balancers is the first of the two bosses that requires a solid team composition and a way to deal with all of the Valkyries. The guide offers information on the boss’s attacks, tips on beating them, and rewards players can get in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Balancers Weaknesses in Elden Ring Nightreign

When it comes to fighting the Balancers, players should prioritize finding any Sleep weapons they can find. This is because the boss is most vulnerable to this ailment. You can bring a Frost and Bleed weapon if you want, but it is better to switch to a Sleep one if you find it. Apart from the resistances, when it comes to elemental negation, none of the effects are really that useful. The boss is strong against Fire, Lightning, and especially Holy. You can opt for Magic, which deals more damage to the Balancers compared to the other ones.

What Sleep does to the boss is that if you inflict enough damage to one of the seven valkyries, they will fall asleep for quite a few seconds, giving you enough time to focus on someone else while having fewer enemies to worry about. In the second phase, when one of the Valkyries is enhanced, this sleep mechanic also works on them.

Sleep Grease and Pots can also be found inside the boxes in the Sleep Ruins. If you have a Scholar in your party, make sure you give them these items because they can hold more in their inventory because of their passive.

How To Beat Balancers in Elden Ring Nightreign 1

As the fight starts, you will face seven Valkyries. These bosses all have a different health bar on top of their heads, but dealing damage to them also damages the main bar at the bottom. They only have a few attacks in this phase, and these are quite easy to tell, even if you are close enough and can dodge out. Try not to spam attacks when close to the boss, as the Sacred Eruption causes spearheads to erupt from the ground, and if you do not have the stamina to roll away, you will get hit.

There are seven of them, so if you are playing Trios, you might have to aggro two or three at the same time. This can be challenging, mainly for classes that have no means to get out of a messy situation. Once all Balancers are dealt with, the boss will be down 30% health, and all of them will get back up for the second phase.

Try to make it through the first phase without using a lot of Healing Flasks, as the second phase is where you will need them more.

Phase 2

How To Beat Balancers in Elden Ring Nightreign 2

The second phase is where the fight really starts to amp up. As all the Valkyries fly up to the sky, one of them will become empowered with pink wings, and they will start flying down one by one, causing a trail of AOE. You will need to dodge out of every attack, as well as the final AOE explosion that has massive coverage. After this, all of the Balancers will come down, and you will need to deal with all of them, the same as the first phase, but this time with an enhanced version fighting beside them.

There are two ways to go about this fight: either you can focus on the individual Balancers that are all around the arena and start chunking at the main boss’s health, or you can focus mainly on the enhanced one. Though some players might find the first option better to do, you need to remember that once all of them are dead, they will all come back to life until the total health goes down to 0%.

The second option, which involves focusing on the powered-up Valkyrie, is better because once you take out all their health, all of the other Balancers will be temporarily stunned. This gives you a few seconds to either heal up or start whacking on the other Balancers before all of them get back up and a new empowered version appears.

Sleep is extremely effective for this fight, so make sure you play around that and not bother with enemies afflicted by it.

Best Balancers Team Comps

Best Balancers Team Comps  in Elden Ring Nightreign 1

The best team composition for the Balancers is Scholar, Undertaker, and Ironeye. Starting with Scholar, he is a must-have on your team, but should be played by someone who knows how his passive works and focuses on getting as many consumables as possible for the upgrades. The Scholar’s ultimate is a great tool against the Valkyries, as all of them will take shared damage, and following up other Ultimate Arts with his Ultimate should be the ideal play.

Undertaker is also another must-have in the team because of how overpowered her kit is. Firstly, the stamina restoration and damage reduction from her base skill help out quite a bit. Her passive gives her an Ultimate Art after every ally Ultimate or perfectly dodging an enemy purple grab. The main thing that makes her stand out is the enhanced version of the normal skill. This makes her invulnerable for 10 seconds, allowing her to not take any damage from the rather long combos that bosses have, and can help revive downed teammates on multiple bars.

Ironeye has great utility because of his marking ability, and because you can put on a Relic to increase the number of Character Skills and ensure you dodge out of any attacks that might deal a lot of damage to the Nightfarer. He can also reliably revive a teammate from afar without risking too much. However, this does not mean you should not pick the other Nightfarers, as Recluse and Wylder can still benefit the team a lot with their damage output.
