Diablo 4 Players Should Avoid Doing This Until Season 11 Starts
Diablo 4‘s Season 11, called Season of Divine Intervention, is coming in just a few days and bringing a lot of much-needed changes to the gameplay loop, the various in-game activities, gear upgrades, and what kind of loot players can get. Since most changes coming with Season of Divine Intervention are permanent and affect the game beyond the newly created Season 11 characters, Diablo 4 players need to be wary of what they are doing before the update goes live, and what’s best to save for later.
Season 11 in Diablo 4 starts on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 8:30 PM PDT. This is also the end time for Season 10, Season of Infernal Chaos.
While most players will make a new character when Diablo 4‘s Season 11 starts, as this is the only way to experience the seasonal gimmicks and content when they are introduced, many others will linger in the Eternal realm to finish testing builds, maxing out characters made in Season 10, or simply wait until 2026 when the entirety of S11’s content rolls out. If playing in Eternal is something you want to do, even in a small part, when Season 11 launches, you should not use any Resplendent Sparks to craft Mythic Uniques until the new update goes live.
Diablo 4 Season 11 Revealed, And It’s a Game-Changer
Diablo 4 Season 11 is coming on December 11, with new seasonal challenge and permanent gameplay changes that will shake up the game in a major way.
How to Get Resplendent Sparks in Diablo 4, What’s Changing in Season 11
In order to get Resplendent Sparks in Diablo 4, players normally have to beat Uber Lilith for the first time in the season or complete the seasonal reputation board. Then, you can salvage a Mythic Unique to get a Resplendent Spark, which is then usable to craft more Mythic Uniques.
Diablo 4‘s best Resplendent Spark farm was introduced in Season 10. This goes as follows:
- Farm Infernal Warp on your main character.
- Talk to Shyan to purchase Warp Scrolls.
- Transfer at least 89 Warp Scrolls to your stash.
- Create a new character of the same class as your main.
- Complete the Sands of Chaos seasonal quest to unlock the S10 reputation board.
- Collect the 89 Warp Scrolls from your stash and use them, obtaining 22,500 reputation and reaching max rank.
- Collect all cache rewards from the seasonal reputation track.
- Stash all caches, and log back in on your main character.
- Use the caches to get loot and a guaranteed Resplendent Spark.
Since Resplendent Sparks are preserved on seasonal characters when they are transferred to the Eternal realm, you can keep all of them to craft more Mythic Uniques. However, using Resplendent Sparks to craft Mythics before Season 11 drops will immediately make these items Legacy gear once the update goes live, meaning they can’t be upgraded anymore.
Diablo 4’s Tempering, Masterworking, and Affixes in Season 11 Explained
Upgrading Mythics in Diablo 4 is a big part of the game, and using Resplendent Sparks to get yourself good items to use in Eternal to test builds, make new characters, or finish gearing your current one can be counterproductive. This is because, outside of seasonal mechanics like Sanctification, the game is undergoing massive changes to its upgrade system. These are:
- Tempering items in Diablo 4‘s Season 11 makes you choose from the list of possible affixes for the one you want, but the range on the roll is still random. Also, Tempering is limited to once per item.
- All items will have 4 affixes, as opposed to 2 or 3 previously.
-
Items can be Masterworked to increase their quality, which will:
- Increase Armor on all armor pieces.
- Increase Resistances on all jewelry items.
- Increase damage on all weapons.
- Increase all affixes by 1% for every level of quality (caps at 20).
- A fully Masterworked item in Diablo 4 can get a capstone bonus, which improves a random affix or Greater Affix by 50% (can be rerolled).
- Sanctification, which is exclusive to Season 11 after completing the seasonal quest and permanently locks an item from future changes, but gives it a random property.
Why You Should Wait to Craft Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4
All these changes, barring the option for Sanctification, will be effective once Season 11 drops. This means that Eternal items will be marked as “legacy,” as they will have two Tempering rolls and fewer affixes. As such, you should save your Resplendent Sparks to craft Mythic Uniques in Diablo 4 after the new patch is released; otherwise, these items will be classified as legacy, too. Furthermore, the new Masterworking system in Diablo 4 can make most items better than they could have been before, so it’s worth waiting for it.
