How to Get All Praxic Blade Upgrades in Destiny 2
The Praxic Blade is one of the most powerful (and fun) Exotics in Destiny 2, and that’s all thanks to its latest expansion, Destiny 2: Renegades. With the Praxic Blade, players can quite literally wield their very own lightsaber in Destiny 2. This Praxic Blade isn’t just a flashy laser sword, as it has over 20 upgrade parts to find. From Catalysts to Power Cores, and even different Dark Matter Crystals, we’ve got a step-by-step guide for all parts to upgrade the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2: Renegades, right here.
How to Get the Praxic Blade Lightsaber in Destiny 2
Find out how to unlock the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2 right here so you can wield your very own lightsaber.
The Praxic Blade Catalysts can only be acquired on the Fire and Ice Exotic Mission on Legendary Difficulty. You can also obtain all 3 Catalysts in one single run, and we’ll explain them all below.
How to Get the Upper Hand Catalyst for the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2
Once you enter the Fire and Ice mission, you will find and kill two Taken Knights known as the Imbalance Wardens. These enemies are in the starting area of the mission. One can be found in the Imperator Cannon area, found to the right of spawn, and the second is found in a left hallway room in the Abandoned Yard.
At this point, you should carry on through the quest and complete the other Catalysts, and return to this section of the guide once you’ve completed the 4 Blights encounter.
After balancing the 4 Blights, a portal will appear and take you back to the Courtyard. Interact with the Pyramid Node to invert the Ascendant Plane, but do not go back into the portal. Instead, return to the two areas where you killed the Taken Knights, and you will now find small Taken Blights in their place. Destroy these Taken Blights with the Praxic Blade, and then enter the portal to reach the Disciple of Harrow boss fight.
Now, in the final phase of the Disciple of Harrow boss fight, you can look below the arena through the gaps in the floor to find two White Blights at the back of the room. You must fill these Blights with Paired Energy (white orbs), which are obtained by killing 2 Cabal Centurions or 2 Taken Centurions.
Once the White Blights are filled completely, complete the encounter as normal by filling the Black Blights and killing the boss. There will now be a gold chest at the Praxic Blade altar at the end of the mission that you can open for the Upper Hand Catalyst.
How to Get the Echoing Blade Catalyst for the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2
There are 7 Oddities that can be found within the Fire and Ice mission, and they must be destroyed with the Praxic Blade. However, to activate the Oddities, you must shoot the 4 Pyramid Nodes that appear in the same room where you pick up the Imbalanced Octant after entering the portal.
Oddity Location #1
The first Oddity can be found by entering the central pillar that takes you to the jumping puzzle segment, but you will instead need to take a detour. As you are falling, stick to the left and land on a ledge before reaching the bottom. From here, carry on forward through the ice caverns and across the platforms. There will now be a special ammo crate, and you will have to run across the disappearing walls, stand by the special ammo crate, and throw the Praxic Blade at the Oddity revealed within.
Oddity Location #2
After destroying Oddity #1, drop down and backtrack on the path, but stick to the right, where you will eventually find another disappearing wall. From within, jump up the left wall, and crouch walk through to find yet another Oddity to destroy.
Oddity Location #3
Navigate to the jumping puzzle with the walls that will push you off, and continue on the path as you normally would to progress. Climb the large rock to the far right of the wall, but instead of going left, head forward and jump upwards across the walls to find a hidden Oddity.
Oddity Location #4
Continue through the area as you normally would until you reach the room that requires you to jump up the platforms and enter into the ceiling. Once you’re inside the ceiling, enter the middle part and climb a ledge that requires you to crouch, then face forward and swing the Praxic Blade to enter a hole with a disappearing floor. Drop down and activate the disappearing wall and throw the Praxic Blade into it to hit the Oddity.
Oddity Location #5
Carry on the correct path past the maze with the gates and disappearing floors, and climb up as you normally would, but instead of going through the white hole in the wall, look up and climb the railing above. Keep looking up, and you will eventually find a disappearing surface hiding inside a pillar in the ceiling that you can jump into. There’s a crack in the wall that you can throw the Praxic Blade into for this Oddity.
Oddity Location #6
Remain on the right path through the hole in the wall and past the Taken Hobgoblins. Take a left during this segment near the third Hobgoblin, and look down to find triangle ledges that you can descend onto. At the bottom of this ledge and to the right, you will find another Oddity. Throw the Praxic Blade at the wall to the right of the Oddity so it bounces off the wall and hits it.
Oddity Location #7
After destroying Oddity #6, jump back up the platform and head right, then use your jump to get above the formation of rocks protruding from the surface. Climb to the top, turn around, and keep climbing across the platforms. Now, climb the large crystal and reach the top pillar. At the back right of the pillar you’re on, you can throw the Praxic Blade upwards into the vent to hit the Oddity.
With all 7 Oddities destroyed, the Echoing Blade Catalyst will appear in a gold chest by the Praxic Blade altar at the end of the mission.
How to Get the Hyperblade Catalyst for the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2
To get the Hyperblade Catalyst, you must continue through the Fire and Ice mission until you reach the encounter with the 4 Taken Blights. To start, you must acquire Paired or Opposite Energy by killing the Centurions, but you must intentionally mess the encounter up by overfilling one Blight while ignoring the other.
To do so, get either Energy and throw them all at the same Blight of its corresponding color (For Black Orbs, kill two of the same Centurion. For White Orbs, kill one of each). Making a Blight imbalanced will reset it, then it spawns an Imbalanced Warden. Repeat this step with all 4 Blights and defeat all 4 Imbalance Wardens to spawn smaller Taken blights in the center of the room.
Once all 4 Blights are in each pillar of the center of the room, you must destroy them with the Praxic Blade. After, the Catalyst of Imbalance Taken Ogre boss will spawn. Upon killing him, you will unlock the Hyperblade Catalyst inside a gold chest at the Praxic Blade altar at the end of the mission.

How to Get All Power Cores for the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2
How to Get the Impact Core
The Impact Core is found for sale in the Tharsis Cantina. However, it’s likely that this Power Core for the Praxic Blade has not been enabled in-game yet. Once the Power Core has been found, we will update this part of the guide.
How to Get the Refraction Core
Inside the Tharsis Outpost, there will be a Fallen Vandal sleeping among a pile of garbage, usually in the southern area of the Bazaar. He can change spawns daily, but we’ve marked where we found him. You can trade 100 Credits to Purchase Junk from this Fallen Vandal, and you will have a random chance to get the Refraction Core upgrade. This can often take thousands of Credits, so just continue to pay him until you get it. For us, it took around 4,000 Credits.
How to Get the Gyro Core
This Power Core for the Praxic Blade is currently hidden within the Equilibrium Dungeon, which releases on December 13. Once the Dungeon has released, and we’ve found the Gyro Core, we will update this part of the guide.
