Fortnite: Pacific Break brings a huge number of changes to the loot pool, from the return of old items to the debut of original weapons never seen before. Naturally, this leads players to wonder what the top meta options are, with some weapons ranking far higher than others. Here are the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, ranked.

Arc-Lightning Gun

Gimicky Weapon for Close Quarters Engagements

First up is the Arc-Lightning Gun, which is arguably one of the weaker guns in the game. The Arc-Lightning Gun deals 9 damage per second for the Epic or Legendary variants, or 11.25 damage to the head for both variants, and 12.1 and 15 damage for the Mythic version. The damage itself is not very high, even though players can rack up some decent numbers with sustained fire.

The range of the Arc-Lightning Gun is also relatively poor, making it almost useless from afar. However, it does come with the ability to damage multiple structures at once, and it can also arc electricity between multiple nearby targets. This makes it a decent option for crowd control, but still one that players may prefer to replace with something stronger.

Forsaken Vow Blade

A Katana That Doubles as a Mobility Item

Right off the bat, the Forsaken Vow Blade is not exactly the best weapon in terms of raw damage. For starters, its regular swing damage reaches 35, and while this is pretty hefty considering its fast attack speed, using it this way puts you in a vulnerable position to being headshot with a well-placed Shotgun shot.

The Falling Blossom is capable of dishing out 70 damage, but as a traditional weapon, the Forsaken Vow Blade is still not all that great. However, as a mobility item, it is an excellent addition. If players use the Vengeance Dash alt-fire attack, particularly in midair, they will be launched forward a great distance. Hold down the aim button, and you can also chain all three charges of this attack one after the other, increasing your distance while becoming immune to fall damage. In certain situations, you can also knock opponents off of height with the Vengeance Dash, leading to some seriously funny and quick eliminations.

6

Tactical Pistol

High Damage Full Auto Pistol

Pistols are usually hit or miss when it comes to Fortnite’s overall meta. Luckily, Chapter 7 starts strong with an excellent Pistol for players to use. The Tactical Pistol is a full-auto weapon with impressive damage, dealing 26 damage to the body or 52 to the head for the Epic version, and 28 or 56 for the Legendary version.

With such a massive boost to its headshot damage, the Tactical Pistol stands out as one of the best full-auto options for landing headshots, especially at close range. From a distance, it becomes far less effective, making it a spray weapon that works best when paired with the Iron Pump Shotgun.

5

Enforcer AR

High-Damage Assault Rifle for Mid-to-Long Range

The Enforcer AR is back in Chapter 7, and this time it is a hitscan weapon, unlike its original variant from Chapter 5. This full-auto Assault Rifle is one of two ARs in the game right now, and it is easily the hardest-hitting option. The Enforcer AR deals 41 body damage or 70 headshot damage for the Legendary version, and 45 body damage or 67 headshot damage for the Mythic Enforcer AR.

Although it fires more slowly than the Deadeye Assault Rifle, the Enforcer AR makes up for this with raw power. Of the two rifles, it is the less accurate choice, with noticeable vertical recoil and no built-in scope. With careful tap firing, however, players can reduce the recoil and make the weapon more controllable.

Twin Hammer Shotguns

Fast Firing Shotguns Ideal for Zero Build

The Twin Hammer Shotguns are one of two Shotguns in the loot pool for Chapter 7 Season 1, and they are a good option overall. Compared to their competitor, the Twin Hammer Shotguns fall behind in damage per shot, topping out at 82 damage to the body or 130 to the head for the Mythic version, or 78 and 125 for the Legendary. However, while the damage is lower, there is one clear benefit.

Because players are firing two Shotguns back to back, the Twin Hammer Shotguns technically have a faster fire rate and a larger magazine. This lets players put out consistent damage much more quickly when relying on Shotguns alone. As a result, the Twin Hammer Shotguns perform especially well in Zero Build, where players can apply pressure up close without having to worry about opponents placing builds in front of them.

3

Vengeful Sniper Rifle

Meta Sniper Rifle for Long Range Encounters

Entering the top three spot now with the Vengeful Sniper Rifle, a weapon that you can definitely play without, but one that is by far a great option if you can land your shots. The Vengeful Sniper Rifle is the only Sniper Rifle in the loot pool and, as a result, the only gun that fires an actual projectile instead of being hitscan. This means players will need to lead their shots to account for the weapon’s velocity and bullet drop.

If you are able to land your shots, the Vengeful Sniper Rifle is by far the best meta option for long-range engagements. The weapon caps out at 92 damage to the body or 176 to the head for the Legendary variant, which deals a massive blow to those unlucky enough to be hit with it. Unfortunately, this does mean that the Vengeful Sniper Rifle is not a one-shot headshot, but with 3 rounds in its magazine and the ability to quickly switch to another weapon, running one can turn the tide in battle.

2

Deadeye Assault Rifle

Best Meta Assault Rifle in Chapter 7

Continuing with the top meta options now is the Deadeye Assault Rifle, by far the best Assault Rifle and all-around weapon for both mid and long-range combat. Unlike the Enforcer AR, the Deadeye Assault Rifle features a built-in scope. It is much more controllable, making it a laser-accurate addition to any player’s loadout and arguably the more versatile of the two.

While the Deadeye definitely ranks behind the Enforcer in raw damage, its damage is still pretty respectable considering its faster fire rate. For body shot damage, it caps out at 26 for Legendary and 28 for its Mythic variant, along with 45 and 53 damage to the head for Legendary and Mythic. With its blend of accuracy and good damage, players are fully capable of beaming with the Deadeye Assault Rifle.

1

Iron Pump Shotgun

Best Meta Shotgun in Chapter 7

Taking the number one spot is the Iron Pump Shotgun, by far one of the best meta options in the loot pool. While the Twin Hammer Shotguns are still a viable option, with players’ preference often falling on which one they find the most success with, in terms of raw damage output, the Iron Pump Shotgun is the king for close-range gunfights.

Out of the two Shotgun options, the Iron Pump Shotgun has the slowest fire rate, but compensates with the highest damage, hitting players for a maximum of 111 on the body and 202 to the head for the Legendary variant, or 116 and 210 for the Mythic variant. This makes the Iron Pump a one-shot headshot if you secure a Legendary variant or higher in Battle Royale Builds, which is sure to make it the most dominant weapon for boxfights.
