Free PS Plus Games for December 2025 Are Officially Available Now
The PlayStation Plus free games for December 2025 are now available to claim. This month’s batch is a bit larger than usual, with PS Plus subscribers being able to claim five titles, including one of the highest-rated games of 2022.
After launching limited-time game offers for PS Plus members in 2010, Sony at first included two titles each month. With the arrival of the PS5 generation in 2020, the PS Plus lineup expanded to three “free” games per month. These remain accessible indefinitely once claimed, but require an active PS Plus subscription to play.

December’s PS Plus free games have been revealed, with subscribers having not three, not four, but five games to learn about this holiday season.

Departing from its usual format, Sony is offering five titles to its subscribers this month, two more than usual. The PS Plus December 2025 free games are: Killing Floor 3, LEGO Horizon Adventures, Neon White, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and The Outlast Trials. They are claimable from December 2 through January 5. The lineup is larger than usual due to the holiday season, with Sony officially presenting the expansion as part of its festive offers on the PlayStation Store.

Critically, one title in the December 2025 lineup stands out: Neon White, a speedrunning-focused first-person shooter and platformer developed by U.S. studio Angel Matrix. It holds the rare “Mighty” rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 89 and a near-flawless 99% reviewer recommendation rate. That places it among the highest-rated games of 2022, tied at number six with Not for Broadcast, Hyper Demon, and Rogue Legacy 2. Neon White also ranks highest among the December 2025 PS Plus titles in user scores, with an average rating of 4.73 stars on the PlayStation Store. However, the margin is narrow, with The Outlast Trials close behind at 4.69 stars.
Sony’s Free Monthly Game Strategy for PS Plus May Look Very Different Starting January 2026
Only two of the five titles in this month’s lineup are available on the PlayStation 4. With Sony recently confirming plans to begin phasing out PS4 games from PS Plus in January 2026, the December 2025 roster may be the last monthly lineup to feature multiple PS4 titles. Alternatively, Sony’s shift away from its previous-generation console may begin not with the free monthly games, but with the PS Plus catalog, a perk exclusive to the Extra and Premium tiers of the service.
On that note, December 2 marks a rare off-schedule change to Sony’s rotating library of titles, with the PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption now available on PS Plus Extra and Premium. This upgraded edition of the 2010 classic features several visual enhancements, including increased draw distances, refined motion blur, HDR support, and improved shadows equivalent to the Ultra settings on the PC version. Resolution has also been upgraded from 720p to 4K. Additional improvements include controller deadzone settings, faster loading times, and DualSense-specific button prompts. The overall package is slightly more compact than the PS4 version, with a file size of 9.74GB compared to 10.79GB.
Red Dead Redemption runs at 60 frames per second in native 4K on the PS5, though this was already the case with the PS4 version played on Sony’s current-gen console. According to early user reports, the updated release includes several minor bugs, such as PS4 saves not automatically unlocking trophies when loaded and some NPCs disappearing during cutscenes. Rockstar has not yet acknowledged these issues in an official capacity.
