The Journey to Paldea event in Pokemon GO introduces Nacli, Naclstack, and Garganacl into the mobile game for the first time and starts on Tuesday, December 2, at 10 am local time and runs until December 9, at 8 pm local time.

The Rock Salt Pokemon, Nacli, and its evolutions are the stars of the event, and if you want to earn an extra encounter with it, you can head over to the shop to purchase the Journey to Paldea Premium Timed Research ticket for $1.99.

Is the ‘Journey to Paldea’ Timed Research Ticket Worth It?

For the small price of just $2, there’s not much to pull players away from purchasing the timed research ticket.

Completing all the research rewards players with seven encounters with Larvitar, six encounters with Bagon, one encounter with Nacli, two Premium Battle Passes, and 3000 Stardust.

If you go to the shop right now, you can buy three Battle Passes as a pack for 250 Coins, which costs around $2. And with the shiny rates for Larvitar and Bagon increased during the Journey to Paldea event, you’re bound to find at least one after all these encounters.

And anyway, Bagon and Larvitar will still appear as increased spawns until the 9th (Larvitar on December 2, 4, 6, and 8; Bagon on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th).

Having a shiny Salamence and/or Tyranitar might be worth the ticket price if you’ve been on the hunt for these ‘mon.

If you’re not into either of those Pokemon and don’t really care about getting extra Nacli encounters for Candy, the ticket might not be worth it for you.
