How to Get Bastion Cells in ARC Raiders (Solo)
Bastions in ARC Raiders are one of the larger ARC machines that lurk Topside and can easily shred players with its machine gun. However, players will eventually need to beat it to get the Bastion Cells, which are one of the resources required to upgrade your Gear Station to level 3.
While Bastions look intimidating to even approach, let alone fight, you can easily take them down even when solo. As long as you know how to approach the fight, you’ll be done with the fight in no time. With that said, here’s a quick guide on how you can easily destroy a Bastion and get the Bastion Cells from it in ARC Raiders.
ARC Raiders: Electromagnetic Storms, Explained
Electromagnetic Storm are one of the dynamic events in ARC Raiders that is a variation of Night Raid but with lighteining striking the ground.
How to Find a Bastion in ARC Raiders (Location)
While a Bastion can spawn on all maps in ARC Raiders, one of the most reliable spots to find one is either Stella Montis or The Blue Gate. Since Stella Montis is a more PvP-focused map, it’s recommended players try fighting a Bastion for the first time on Blue Gate.
A Bastion will reliably spawn either inside the Outer Gates area next to Checkpoint, or under the dome of the Headhouse.
Best Loadout to Destroy a Bastion in ARC Raiders
Before we get into the specifics of how you can defeat one, let’s talk about loadout. The Hullcracker is one of the best weapons to quickly take down a Bastion. You can either buy it from Tian Wen for 30,000 coins, or craft it yourself if you’ve unlocked the blueprint after completing The Major’s Footlocker quest in ARC Raiders.
You’ll also need to buy or craft at least two stacks of Launcher Ammo for it. While that’s more than you need, it can come in handy if you want to deal with other minor ARC machines during the fight. In addition to Hullcracker, best keep an ample supply of healing items and a secondary weapon that you’ll need for PvP (in case there’s a hostile raider around).
If players can’t get a Hullcracker for the fight, they can use an upgraded Ferro to fight a Bastion. However, it’ll take a lot longer to bring it down.
How to Beat a Bastion & Get Bastion Cells
The first thing you’ll need to do is find good cover, preferably in a hallway that connects to the exterior area where the Bastion is patrolling. This will give you enough cover to dodge Bastion’s machine gun attacks. Even if you get hit by it, you’ll have the move to hide and heal, which will make the fight a lot more manageable.
Next, you’ll need to attract the Bastion to your location by shooting it once with your weapon. Once it’s close, you should start aiming at its yellow leg joints, which is one of its weak spots. Shooting enough Hullcracker rounds at its leg joints will make the Bastion immobile, which will leave its red core in the middle vulnerable to attacks.
Make sure to aim from the Bastion’s side to land precise shots at the red core inside the Bastion to deal massive damage to its HP. After a few more shots, the Bastion will be destroyed, leaving its appendages scattered for looting.
Make sure to loot every part of Bastion, as players can get two to three Bastion Cells by taking down a single one in ARC Raiders. As soon as you find your first Bastion Cell, quickly put it inside your Safe Pocket, so the other cells you loot automatically go into it as well (since you can stack three Bastion Cells in one inventory slot).
