New Metroid Prime 4 Pre-Order Bonus Will Only Be for Certain Players

By newsgame

Nintendo has officially revealed a brand-new pre-order bonus for the upcoming release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, though it will only be available to select fans. The long-awaited return of the Metroid Prime franchise has seen a long road to its release on December 4, with the game fighting through development hell and plenty of delays. Metroid Prime 4 was originally announced at E3 2017, with the game changing hands from Bandai Namco to Retro Studios in 2019 and seeing a full restart before reaching its current form. Now, fans of Metroid Prime 4 won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on the game.

Metroid Prime 4‘s extended development cycle saw both multiple new games and even a new Nintendo console release since its reveal. The Metroid franchise has launched two new games in the years following Metroid Prime 4‘s announcement, with Metroid Dread returning to the franchise’s side-scrolling roots and Metroid Prime Remastered bringing the beloved shooter to the Switch. Nintendo would even welcome the launch of its newest home console while fans waited for Metroid Prime 4, with the game now set to launch simultaneously on both the Switch and Switch 2. A new announcement from Nintendo is now teasing a brand-new bonus for fans pre-ordering the game.

Some physical copies of Metroid Prime 4 have also begun to surface ahead of its December 4 release date, with fans reportedly acquiring the game before its official launch. Metroid Prime 4 Is Experimenting with New Ideas

Nintendo and Retro Studios have given fans plenty to be excited about from the launch of Metroid Prime 4. The newest entry in the Metroid franchise will make some big changes to the standard formula for the series, with a wide-open planet for Samus to explore. Metroid Prime 4 will experiment with “open zones” for the first time, giving Samus the Vi-O-La motorcycle to traverse the vast deserts and dense jungles of Viewros. Samus is also gaining some psychic powers during her upcoming adventure, used both for puzzle-solving and combat within Metroid Prime 4.

With the long-awaited return of Metroid Prime 4 gearing up for its launch, recent rumors have sparked speculation about even more Metroid games coming to the Switch. Leaks shared by a Nintendo insider last month hinted at potential remasters of Metroid Prime 2 and Metroid Prime 3 arriving on Switch, though a release window was not confirmed. Nintendo has not commented on more Metroid remasters, though the launch of Metroid Prime Remastered in 2023 came as a surprise drop, releasing on the same day as its official confirmation. Metroid is officially back in the spotlight, with the long-awaited Metroid Prime 4 finally approaching its launch and more potentially on the way.
