God of War Sons of Sparta Muse Chamber Solutions

By newsgame

Players will need to defeat three Stymphalians throughout the course of God of War: Sons of Sparta, each of which will drop a plume upon its defeat. If players take these plumes to the temple in the Sanctuary area, they’ll be able to use them to unlock three special doors, behind each of which are three Muse Chambers.

Every God Of War Game, Ranked

Santa Monica Studio’s God of War has produced many great games. Naturally, some of Kratos’ bloody PlayStation adventures are better than others.

The Muse Chambers in God of War: Sons of Sparta serve as challenge rooms and can be broken up into three distinct types. Melete’s chambers test your platforming, Mneme’s chambers test your use of tools, and Aoede’s chambers test your combat skills. Completing all nine Muse Chambers will unlock a brand-new area called The Drifting Spire, as well as the Amusing Trophy.

If you’re having trouble completing any of the Muse Chambers in God of War: Sons of Sparta, you may want to consider coming back later after growing stronger or unlocking more gifts. The Nike Sandals can make the race chambers considerably easier, while being stronger will obviously improve your chances in battle chambers quite a bit.

Melete’s Race (Muse Chamber 1)

Muse Chamber 1 is a race to the finish line. If you’re good at grabbing ladders in midair, you should take the upper path. If not, take the lower path instead. Use dodge rolls wherever possible, as this is the fastest way to get around during the early stages of God of War: Sons of Sparta. You’ll also need dodge rolls to pass through some of the tighter gaps.

After clearing the first section, you’ll notice a lever up above you. Grab the wall to your right and then jump back over to the ladder, pressing Triangle while in midair to grab onto it. From there, jump over to the lever and pull it, then make your way back over to the left side of the chamber via the ladder to claim the two pieces of Crude Ore in the chest.

Mneme’s Reflection (Muse Chamber 2)

Muse Chamber 2 tests your use of tools and your ability to quickly switch between them on the fly. Start by using the Lycurgus Bust’s vision on the stone eye to your left, then jump up onto the platform on the far left side of the chamber. From there, you’ll be able to fire the Solar Sling to your left to activate the moving platform that you’re standing on. Ride it up to the top and then climb the ladder to your left. You can ignore the platform on your right for now.

In this upper area, pull the lever and then use Lycurgus again on the stone eye, which will allow you to drop down onto the other moving platform. While it’s at the top of its cycle, jump to your right and then use the eternal flame to burn the thorns on the ceiling above you. This will uncover another Solar Sling target, which, when hit, will activate the moving platform to your right. Before riding it up, you’ll need to pull the nearby lever. After that, you can make your way to the finish line, where another chest containing two pieces of Crude Ore awaits.

You can probably shave a couple of seconds off of my time by pulling the second lever before activating the moving platform.

Aoede’s Battle (Muse Chamber 3)

Muse Chamber 3 is a test of your combat skills and is arguably the trickiest of the three Razor Plume chambers. At this point in the game, the enemies found here are quite tough, so you’ll need to use your tools if you want to take them down before time runs out. The first few enemies aren’t too bad, but the last two are pretty bulky and spawn on either side of you.

To make things a little easier, dodge roll through one of the last two enemies so that they’re both on the same side and then blast them with the Eternal Flame. If you’re lucky, the splash damage will hurt them both. Assuming you can clear the chamber within 45 seconds, you’ll be able to return to the entrance to find yet another chest containing two pieces of Crude Ore.

Melete’s Course (Muse Chamber 4)

Upon entering Muse Chamber 4, head to the ledge on your right and then use the two moving platforms to reach the lever on the opposite side of the chamber. After pulling it, use the two platforms to get back over to the right side and climb the wall there. Next, run to your left and do a long jump to grab onto the wall. If you don’t quite make it, you should still be able to reach it with a double jump. Climb up, then use two more moving platforms to reach the ledge to your right. There, you’ll find the finish line and a chest containing a Durable Plate.

Mneme’s Meditation (Muse Chamber 5)

Muse Chamber 5 can seem a little tricky at first, but once you know what to do, it’s not actually that bad. After dropping down through the ceiling, head right and climb up using the walls. You can save a bit of time by double-jumping here to shorten the climb. Next, you’ll need to use the eternal flame to burn some thorns. You’ll need to use the eternal flame while airborne to take out the second patch of thorns.

Once at the top, roll through the gap to your left and drop down one level. You’ll want to fire off another eternal flame through the gap to your right and then jump back up and suck up the Unsealing Mist with your Lycurgus Bust. Next, drop down two levels and fire the Solar Sling to your right to lower the nearby grate. This will allow you to head back to the starting area, where you should use the Lycurgus Bust’s vision on the stone eye and then breathe the Unsealing Myst into the pot to your left.

In the final area, run to your left and be sure to take the upper path. Continue running to your left and then do a long horizontal jump to reach the finish line. Assuming you make it before the time runs out, you’ll find another chest containing a Durable Plate. After claiming it, head to your left to return to the Frozen Plume corridor.

Aoede’s Clash (Muse Chamber 6)

Muse Chamber 6 is a bit easier than Muse Chamber 3, as the timer is a bit more generous, and the enemies are spread out quite evenly, so you’ll seldom find yourself being overrun. Save your Spirit and your Magic for the larger enemies on the upper right platform and make the most of the generous i-frames granted by Kratos’ dodge roll, and you should have no trouble clearing the chamber before the timer runs out. Once you do, head back to the entrance to find a chest containing another Durable Plate.

Melete’s Competition (Muse Chamber 7)

Muse Chamber 7 is another race to the finish line. From the starting point, you’ll want to run to your left and then jump across the two platforms. Launch Kratos down through the floor, roll left through the tunnel, and then launch up through the ceiling and head left. You’ll then need to run to your left and hit Square to charge through the barrier. You can either climb the wall behind it or launch upward to reach the ledge above.

Once on the ledge, head right and climb up the wall. The finish line is now to your left. If you have stamina left, you can do a long jump here, but if not, you can reach the other side with a well-timed double jump. There, you’ll find a chest containing some Ionian Salt, which Kratos can use to enhance his Spartan Dory tails.

Mneme’s Enlightenment (Muse Chamber 8)

The intended strat in Muse Chamber 8 seems to involve a moving platform and a solar sling switch. However, it’s possible to reach the finish line without ever engaging with the switch, which can make the chamber incredibly easy. From the start, head right and use the lunar blade to push the marble statue back across to the left. You’ll want to line it up with the middle statue in the background, as doing so will allow you to use the harvest glaive to destroy three blue vines. One of the vines is out of sight, directly above the middle statue (see the video for the exact location), but you can still hit it while it’s off-screen.

After destroying the vines, jump onto the marble statue, use the Lycurgus Bust to absorb the unsealing mist, and then double jump to the left to reach the area above. Once there, blow the unsealing mist into the receptacle and then immediately breathe it back in again. Use Lycurgus to make the invisible platforms to your left appear, and then climb up to the next area. Over to your right, you’ll see another receptacle, where you’ll need to blow the unsealing mist. The timer is a little tight, but it’s definitely doable if you’re fast.

Next, head down to the area below and use Lycurgus’ vision on the eye. As soon as the beam breaks, roll over to your right and jump into the air. You’ll want to get as much height as possible here, as failure to do so will lead to you taking damage from the thorns and falling back down to the starting area. If you jump far enough, you’ll still take damage, but the knockback won’t be enough to make you fall.

Once you’ve landed safely on the thorny platform, quickly double jump up and to your right to reach the penultimate area. From here, launch Kratos up through the ceiling and then jump to your right to reach the finish line. There, you’ll find a chest containing a Heart of Dread, which can be used to enhance Gouri.

Aode’s Onslaught (Muse Chamber 9)

The final Sons of Sparta muse chamber is arguably one of the easiest. To succeed, you’ll just need to make your way to the top of the area, taking out any and all enemies that you run into along the way. Other than a few edge encroachers that refuse to let you climb up, none of the enemies here are particularly challenging, and the timer is fairly generous, so you should have no trouble clearing the chamber before time runs out. After doing so, return to the entrance to find a chest containing a piece of Elysian Alloy, which is needed for certain Spartan Aspis rim upgrades.
