PS Plus Free Games for December 2025 Explained
PlayStation Plus is about to close off a notable year. 2025 was the 15th anniversary of Sony’s monthly subscription service, and it saw PlayStation Plus add several extremely popular and well-received titles throughout, along with other lesser-known but no less compelling entries. Fans have been given a wide range of games from heavy hitters like Cyberpunk 2077 and Lies of P to indie gems like Stray and Viewfinder.
Sony has now announced the PS Plus free games for December, capping off 2025 with a pleasant surprise by including five games in the lineup instead of the usual three. LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Neon White, and Synduality: Echo of Ada will be available for members to claim from December 2 until January 5. PS Plus Extra subscribers can also claim Red Dead Redemption on December 2.
Subscribers should be aware that the official PS Plus blog states the availability of some of these titles will vary by region.
LEGO Horizon Adventures
Read Game Rant’s Review of LEGO Horizon Adventures
Adapting Guerrilla Games’ popular post-apocalyptic Horizon franchise into a more family-friendly framework, LEGO Horizon Adventures sees series protagonist Aloy as she helps unite and rebuild the remnants of humanity while defending it from rampaging AI machines. Horizon Adventures brings Aloy’s epic quest to vibrant life within the LEGO games’ iconic style and mechanics, including (limited) co-op support. Because of this, while there are a lot of great games on PS Plus, this one is likely to be the most downloaded of the month.
- Familiar combat via weak-point targeting + machine takedowns
- Level-based structure (not open world) + linear but varied stages
- Customization, upgrade systems, and hub-base building
The Outlast Trials
Read Game Rant’s Review of The Outlast Trials
Based on developer Red Barrels’ preceding single-player first-person survival horror games, The Outlast Trials is a multiplayer experience (though it can also be done solo) that puts fans through a series of randomized, grueling scenarios. As test subjects for the Murkoff Corporation, players must escape from a variety of deadly experiments by scrounging for supplies. The Outlast Trials‘ unrelentingly terrifying atmosphere and co-op gameplay offer a gorily good time. PS Plus recently added a bunch of horror games, and while The Outlast Trials may be late to the party, it’s one of those games where the party doesn’t really start until it pulls up.
- Flexible solo or 2–4 player cooperative play
- Upgradeable “rig” abilities and resource-based tools shape strategy
- Procedural/randomized trials & replayability, with difficulty modifiers

The latest installment in Tripwire’s frantic co-op FPS horror series, Killing Floor 3 is similar in a few ways to The Outlast Trials, but with much more emphasis on fighting back. Accommodating up to six players, it lets fans choose from among the same number of specialists, each equipped with class-specific gear, to take on increasingly vast hordes of genetically engineered “Zeds.” Killing Floor 3‘s crafting and modding systems allow extensive customization and upgrade options for players to maximize their skills and setup between rounds in order to tackle more difficult maps and earn additional rewards.
- Specialist classes + deep progression, skill trees and loadout customization

Synduality: Echo of Ada is a PvEvP extraction shooter coming to PS Plus, set in a far sci-fi future where a catastrophe known as “The Tears of the New Moon” has forced humanity underground and created monsters above. Players inhabit the role of Drifters, piloting mechs and assisted by an AI companion. Fans must brave the newborn dangers of the surface world, battling the deformed Enders (and other Drifters) along the way with the goal of gathering valuable resources known as AO crystals.
