How to Join Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
The Midnight Blades is a PvP-focused Sect in Where Winds Meet that players can enter very early on in the game. For wanderers interested in PvP, it is the perfect Sect in WWM to complement their playstyle.
While entrance to the Midnight Blades is available early on, it is not immediately apparent where to go for players who want to know how to join. This guide covers the exact method of joining the Midnight Blades, how to increase your rank and Sect status, as well as the requirements for leaving if you end up deciding the Sect is not for you. Here’s the breakdown.
Where Winds Meet: How to Fly
Soar through the skies like a true Wuxia martial arts master in Where Winds Meet by meeting these requirements.
How to Join the Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
The Midnight Blades Sect entrance mission can be triggered in Halo Peak in Sundara Land, located in the northern part of Qinghe in Where Winds Meet. Here’s what you need to do:
-
Head to the location marked on the map, and you’ll find a Seriously Injured Swordsman lying on the stones (exact location shown above).
- Talk with the dying Swordsman, and he’ll reveal that he was killed by the Midnight Blades with his last breath.
-
After he dies, turn around and follow the quest marker to find a blood trail leading to a large number of dead bodies lying on the grass.
- Approach the center of the kill field, and the objective marker will shift, showing Icchantika, the Ferryman of the Midnight Blades, sitting cross-legged on a stone outcropping above you.
- Talk to Icchantika and select the “My heart is of the Asura Heart” option when prompted.
- The Ferryman will give you a token and tell you, “stain it with blood” in order to join the Midnight Blades.
- The goal is to kill any character (NPC or Player) with your own hand.
-
Return to Icchantika when the deed is done and select “Inherit karmic burden, join the Sect.”
- Submit the Annihilation token to him, and you’ll be granted entry into the Midnight Blades.
You’ll immediately receive the Infernal Twinblades weapon upon joining the Sect successfully.
Do not give Icchantika the Rouge Token. Doing so will put you on the path to join the Nine Mortal Ways Sect instead of the Midnight Blades.
How to Rank Up in the Midnight Blades Sect in Where Winds Meet
To know what you need to do to go up to the next rank, open the Sect menu and go to “Status.” Complete the objectives listed here, and you’ll automatically advance to the next rank, and the objectives will update to showcase the next level.
You can check the process of obtaining the required rank-up items by clicking on the item in this menu and clicking on the information underneath “How to Obtain.” This will lead you directly to the place where you can complete those challenges to increase your Sect status.
Sect entrance opens at level 10, and PvP unlocks at level 22. This means that even if you enter the Midnight Blades very early on, you will have no way to increase your rank until you reach level 22.

To leave the Midnight Blades Sect, open the Sect window from the start menu and select the “Betray Master” option in the bottom right corner. You’ll be removed from the Sect and will have to go through a “Severance Trial” event in the Perception Forest.

Once you leave, your Sect status, reputation, and all merits will be wiped clean, but you will retain all items purchased from the Sect shop and any Martial Arts you obtained through the Sect.
