PS5 Could Be Getting Deeper Black Friday Discounts

An industry leaker stated that the PS5 could get even deeper discounts for Black Friday than what Sony has already shown, including a potential discount on the PS5 Pro console with a disc drive for a limited time. A digital variant of the previously announced PS5 Fortnite Flowering Chaos bundle was also claimed to be among Sony’s upcoming offerings.

The rumors came a day after Sony officially unveiled the Fortnite Flowering Chaos PS5 console bundle for Black Friday, which will arrive no later than November 22 on PlayStation Direct. It will also be available at other retailers beginning November 26. The Fortnite Flowering Chaos bundle includes a standard PS5 console with a disc drive, a DualSense Controller, 1,000 V-Bucks, and a voucher for various Flowering Chaos cosmetics to use in modes like LEGO Fortnite and Fortnite Festival. This new 2025 Black Friday PS5 bundle is rumored to cost $449, a $100 discount from the current $549 price tag, while supplies last.

With Black Friday just days away, a known industry leaker claimed that Sony could reveal some additional discounts for the holiday shopping season. According to a report from billbil-kun on Dealabs, the Fortnite Flowering Chaos PS5 bundle could receive a digital-only alternative that omits a disc drive for a discount down from €499 to €349 in Europe. Additionally, the PS5 Pro, which currently sits at €799, could see a €100 price drop to €699 for Black Friday. Previous editions of the standard PS5, both with and without a disc drive, will also be discounted to €449 and €349, respectively. Ergo, all PS5 consoles could see a €100 minimum discount in Europe on Black Friday.

Of course, it remains to be seen if these rumored discounts will apply to other countries, such as the US, at similar rates. However, any discounts would come at an opportune time for US-based consumers. Due to the tariffs on various goods from countries like China, where Sony conducts manufacturing, the price of the current PS5 console lineup jumped by $50 across the board, with the PS5 Pro landing at a steep $749 MSRP in the US.

Should the PS5 Pro be part of Sony’s 2025 Black Friday deals in the US, the discount would bring the PS5 Pro below its previous MSRP of $699. As of this writing, Sony has not officially revealed further Black Friday deals beyond the Fortnite Flowering Chaos PS5 bundle, so all rumors must be taken with a fine grain of salt.
