Jessica hails from Northern Ireland, and has written thousands of guides across sites such as Eurogamer, PCGamer, IGN, and PCGamesN. She also ventures into the lands of reviews, news, interviews, and features from time to time, but never strays too far from the guides shire. When Jessica’s not writing about games, she’s usually stressing over character builds in Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact, or on the hunt for a new survival horror to test the strength of her vocal chords. She asks that you kindly stop recommending gargantuan RPGs to her, as they will become her new personality, and there’s only so much unnecessary tatt that her shelves can hold. This logic somehow doesn’t stop her from trying every new gacha RPG going, but looking at her playtime on those tends to have the same effect… sometimes.

You need to find Paldean Wooper to learn the Suck ability in Pokemon Pokopia, but even though you can get Wooper early on by making a Marshy Tall Grass Habitat in the Bleak Beach area, you can’t actually learn Suck until Piplup asks you to make a waterfall. And Piplup won’t ask you this until you complete the Bleak Beach storyline in Pokemon Pokopia.

How to Find Wooper and Learn Suck in Pokopia

Paldean Wooper is found by making a Marshy Tall Grass Habitat in Pokemon Pokopia, which consists of four yellow tall grass squares and two squares of muddy water. However, you can’t learn the Suck ability from Paldean Wooper until you complete the Bleak Beach storyline, where Piplup then asks you to make a waterfall. Specifically, you need to wake Mosslax up, then speak with Piplup when they have the “Let’s go together!” bubble above them to unlock the “Make a Waterfall” request.

If Piplup doesn’t have this text above them and there’s no request from Piplup to make a waterfall, then try completing other requests in Bleak Beach to make it pop. Exit and reenter Bleak Beach if Piplup still won’t activate the “Make a Waterfall” request.

We found the muddy water spot near the center of Bleak Beach was perfect for creating the Marshy Tall Grass Habitat in Pokopia. So if you’re struggling to find a place to get Paldean Wooper, you can use this spot. Once Paldean Wooper appears at the Marshy Tall Grass Habitat (it shouldn’t take long), now all you have to do is talk to them and hand over three Tomatoes to get Paldean Wooper to teach you the Suck ability.

How to Use Suck in Pokopia

Press the ZR button while holding down Y when in a liquid source to use Suck in Pokopia. You can do this with freshwater, ocean water, muddy water, hot-spring water, and even lava. With Ditto’s belly full, all you need to do is travel to the place you wish to deposit the liquid source, then press A to spit it out. You can continue to press A to fill up the area with even more liquid, until it reaches your desired level.

Just remember to spit out the liquid in an enclosed area, so it doesn’t overflow and go everywhere. Unless you want to create a waterfall or lava waterfall, in which case you should leave a gap off a cliff to let the water or lava flow down.
