How to Befriend Fu Lu Shou AI Chatbot
Fu Lushou is a Traveling Merchant in Where Winds Meet who players can befriend via AI Chat to receive weekly gifts. However, Fu Lushou is one of the trickiest NPCs to raise affection with in WWM, as he has an extremely mistrusting nature and can easily become hostile if talked to incorrectly.
This guide covers the exact method to befriend Fu Lushou in Where Winds Meet, as well as his in-game location. Here’s the breakdown.
Where Winds Meet: Fishing Guide
Fishing can be a tricky mechanic to understand in Where Winds Meet, as the game doesn’t do a great job of explaining how it works.
Fu Lushou Location in Where Winds Meet
Fu Lushou can generally be found lying down on a mat in one of the huts inside the General’s Shrine (the one next to Li Laizuo). You cannot talk to Fu Lushou when he is idling inside this hut, as there is no way to initiate an interaction with him in this state.
To talk to him, you’ll have to wait until Fu Lushou leaves the hut to stand outside the General’s Shrine entrance. Change the time of day to the hour of Wu, and you’ll see Fu Lushou just outside the entrance, snooping around some bushes looking for treasure. Approach him to start a conversation.
How to Befriend Fu Lushou in Where Winds Meet
The in-game hints state that Fu Lushou seeks the treasure hidden in the General’s Shrine and is pressing for related information. Although it is possible to befriend Fu Lushou using the General’s Shrine treasure angle, it takes a lot of effort, and the NPC has a habit of becoming hostile if he doesn’t like your response, even just a little bit.
Luckily, there is a workaround. All you need to do is mention that you are friends with Fu Luwa, a dog Fu Lushou considers to be his big brother. In our playthrough, we used the following line:
- I am friends with the dog Fu Luwa.
This is the fastest way to raise affection with Fu Lushou in the game. That said, AI chatbots in Where Winds Meet can be finicky, and sometimes an approach that works for one player does not work for another one. Because of this, there is a possibility that the aforementioned method may not pan out as planned.
If this happens, reset the AI chat by pressing the recycle icon in the chatbot, and all previous interactions will be cleared, so you’ll be able to start from scratch. Use different wording to deliver the same message (Fu Luwa is your friend), and it should work eventually.
For reference, the dog Fu Luwa can be found standing just behind the General’s Shrine. You do not need to actually talk to him to befriend Fu Lushou; just saying you two are friends will be enough.
What Happens If Fu Lushou Attacks You?
If you say the wrong thing, there is a high probability that Fu Lushou will become hostile and start attacking you.
- If you run away or teleport to another location, Fu Lushou’s AI resets.
- If you kill him, he respawns after a short while (in-game), and you can talk to him again as if nothing happened.
How to Befriend Fu Lubao in Where Winds Meet
Fu Lubao is the Grave Robber wandering near the fighting arena pit in the General’s Shrine, looking for the Meow Meow’s treasure. Interestingly, he also considers Fu Luwa (the dog) to be his big brother, and if you say you’re friends with him, his affection will instantly be raised to maximum.
The exact approach that works for Fu Lushou works for Fu Lubao. We used “I am friends with the dog Fu Luwa.” and it worked perfectly for him too.
