How to Catch Cicada in Heartopia
In Heartopia, the Cicada can be found in the Spirit Oak Pine Forest during Afternoon, Dusk, and Dawn. It can spawn in Sunny, Rainy, or Rainbow weather. However, you’ll need to reach Insect Catching Level 4 before you’re able to successfully capture it.
The Cicada is usually one of the first insects players can find once they move past the very early stages of the insect-catching hobby in Heartopia. It’s not extremely rare, but it still requires some exploration and the right timing to find consistently.

Level 4 Insect Catching |
The Cicada spawns frequently in the Spirit Oak Pine Forest. Unlike other beginner insects in Heartopia that can appear across multiple starter locations, the Cicada is tied specifically to this forest region, so you’ll need to travel there if you want to add it to your journal.
The spawn conditions for this insect are fairly forgiving. The Cicada can spawn during Dawn, Afternoon, and Dusk in Sunny, Rainy, or Rainbow weather. These time windows make it possible to find the insect during most daytime play sessions. If you explore the forest regularly, you’ll stumble across one without needing to wait for a very specific time.

How to Catch the Cicada in Heartopia
Once you find a Cicada in the Spirit Oak Pine Forest, approaching it carefully will improve your chances of successfully capturing it. A safer strategy is to hold down the bubble input to enter stealth mode. Doing so slows your movement and begins charging your bubble net, so you can line up a better capture.
As you move closer, a capture outline will appear around your character, showing the effective range of your bubble. When the Cicada is inside that range, release the bubble to trap it.
As you continue leveling up the Insect Catching Hobby, you’ll unlock upgrades that make hunts like this easier. Improvements such as better net range will let you catch Cicadas and higher-level bugs easily.
