How To Get Tangela In Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen

To catch Tangela in the wild, players must have Pokemon FireRed, as this Pokemon is exclusive to that version. Then, travel to Pallet Town, the place where your Pokemon Journey Started.

Players must have won against Koga, received his Soulbadge, and obtained the HM 03 Surf from the Safari Zone, then teach it to a Pokemon before they can proceed.

Now, from Pallet Town (more precisely, from the Trainer’s home), head south to the shore of the water, then use Surf. Turn right immediately to access a small area with a big patch of grass. The only Pokemon that spawns there is Tangela, so weaken it and capture it.

Now, there’s an alternative method to fill that Pokedex Entry in LeafGreen, and that is to find the right NPC that trades a Tangela in exchange for a Venonat.

From the same exact spot where Tangela would spawn, players must keep going south and reach Cinnabar Island, where the 7th Gym Challenge awaits. Inside the Pokemon Research Laboratory, there’s a guy who will give players a Tangela if they bring Venonat, which can be caught both in the Safari Zone and outside it, on Routes 12, 13, 14, and 15.
