How to Play Music CDs in Pokemon Pokopia

If you’ve already found some music CDs, then you can play the tracks on them by finding Rotom. All you need to do is go to Rotom, press A to talk to him, and then select the option to give him a CD.

DJ Rotom can only hold five CDs at a time, so any others that you find as you progress through the game will need to be held in your inventory or stored in a storage box.

Where to Find Music CDs in Pokemon Pokopia

CDs can be found by breaking glowing spots in walls and floors with the Rock Smash move (taught to you early on by Hitmonchan). These Glowing Spots can contain all sorts of items such as Mysterious Slates, Fossils, and CDs. As such, there’s no guarantee that you’ll definitely get a CD from every glowing spot you find when you’re exploring the world.

You can get one CD by interacting with the bookshelf during Rotom’s first quest.

While your friend Tangrowth is great for giving you a bit of guidance, do not give him any of the music CDs that you find. He won’t appraise them; he’ll just pocket them, and you won’t get them back. The good news is that if this happens, all hope is not lost. You’ll be able to find another copy of the CD a little bit later, but you can save yourself the headache by just keeping your CDs to yourself and Rotom.

How to Unlock DJ Rotom in Pokemon Pokopia

DJ Rotom is unlocked as part of the Rocky Ridges questline, which is one of the first areas you unlock after the Withered Wastelands in Pokopia. You’ll be spending a good chunk of time with DJ Rotom as part of the “Time to Party!” Important Request, which tasks you with helping Chef Dente and Rotom throw a great party.

As part of this, DJ Rotom will ask that you give him a CD. If you’ve already found one, then you can quickly get through this step of the Important Request.
