How to Get the R.I.P. Knife in RE9
The R.I.P. Knife in Resident Evil Requiem is a special melee weapon that players can obtain while playing as Grace on Insanity difficulty. It functions like any standard knife, but its main advantage is the increased Infected Blood dropped by enemies after they are killed.
Enemies in Insanity are far more aggressive and durable, and ammunition is limited, making blood collection even more important. The R.I.P. Knife does not generate extra blood per hit. Instead, defeated zombies drop more Infected Blood, which can then be collected using the Blood Collector in RE9.
All Chapters & Collectibles in Resident Evil Requiem
Here’s a list of all chapters/locations you’ll be visiting in Resident Evil Requiem as Leon and Grace, including a list of collectibles you’ll find.
How to Get the R.I.P. Knife in Resident Evil Requiem
While exploring the Care Center as Grace and reaching the Parlor, you will come across the Antique Coin Cabinet again. On Insanity difficulty, the rewards inside this cabinet differ from those of the lower difficulties. One of the available rewards is the R.I.P. Knife, which costs five Antique Coins.
A second R.I.P. Knife can be found inside the Closet south of the Waiting Room in the East Wing. To access this room, you will need the Level 1 Wristband obtained near the Lead Researcher’s Office.
Keep in mind that the R.I.P. Knife is durable but will eventually break with use. Because of this, unlocking its crafting recipe is important. Inside the same Closet room, you will also find the Blood Specimen (Polymerized).
You can find the Stakeout Takeout Charm inside the Pantry, which increases your knife’s durability and damage. This is quite a necessary Charm if you intend to use the R.I.P. Knife often, as it ensures it won’t break easily.
On Insanity difficulty, the Pantry Key does not drop after defeating the Chef, and you will have to check out the Closet where you got the Blood Specimen (Polymerized).
Take the Blood Specimen back to the Blood Lab and analyze it to unlock the recipe for the R.I.P. Knife. Once unlocked, you can craft the knife using Infected Blood and Scrap. Since this will likely become your primary melee weapon on Insanity, any spare knives you find can be dismantled into Scrap to maintain a steady supply.
Don’t forget to purchase the Matsuoka Master Manual from the Special Contents tab using Challenge Points, as this permanently increases the capacity the Blood Collector can carry by 50. This, plus the manual you get in the Parlor, increases the total capacity to 200.
