Black Ops 7 Is Nerfing Its Most Annoying Field Upgrade

By newsgame

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 developer Treyarch Studios has released a brand-new dev talk video, in which design director Matt Scronce confirmed plans to nerf the Drone Pod Field Upgrade. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched with 10 Field Upgrades for players to unlock, but the Drone Pod, which is a deployable device that launches aerial drones that seek out enemies and explode, has become a fan-favorite due to its ease of use and overwhelming onslaught of drones.

Treyarch Studios has been committed to implementing as much player feedback as possible, both in the build-up to release and post-launch, and its latest set of changes has now been revealed. On November 20, less than one week after the shooter’s release, Matt Scronce touched upon plenty of adjustments coming ahead of Season 1, including a slight buff to Black Ops 7‘s Aim Assist. The gameplay system has been a huge talking point among players following its substantial nerf between Beta and full release, and while the studio says it’s generally happy with where things are at right now, it will be buffing the Aim Assist at long range.

When is the Next Double XP Weekend for COD Black Ops 7?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s grind is definitely demanding. However, with Black Ops 7’s next Double XP Weekend, you can level up fast with ease.

Treyarch Is Nerfing Black Ops 7’s Drone Pod

Aim Assist changes aren’t the only thing Treyarch Studios has in store for fans, either, as Scronce confirmed that the Drone Pod, one of Black Ops 7‘s ten Field Upgrades, will be nerfed. Unfortunately, the studio isn’t quite sure exactly how it will nerf the Upgrade just yet, but does note that it will either come down to reducing the number of drones that can be deployed from the Pod or their flight speed. “Rest assured, we are taking a close look at that one,” Scronce said. He then also confirmed that the studio is looking at specific damage tuning for hardcore modes.

There’s no word on when all of these changes will be implemented, but the design director does state that they will come “ahead of Season 1.” Sadly, there’s still no confirmed release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s very first season, but we do know that there will be tons of new content for players to check out. In a preview of the roadmap for Season 1, Treyarch revealed that there will be two more remastered Black Ops 2 maps thrown into the mix: Standoff and Meltdown, the latter of which has never been remastered before. There will also be plenty of new maps for players to jump into.

For those eager for new content sooner rather than later, a new update for Black Ops 7 added Nuketown to the game on November 20. Nuketown has become synonymous with the Black Ops series, appearing in every mainline entry since its inception. But, as the latest installment is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, Treyarch Studios has specifically brought back Nuketown 2025, the futuristic variant that debuted in the 2012 shooter. There have been some slight upgrades, however, such as the removal of the map’s mannequins in favor of robots.
