High on Life 2 Stop the Execution Guide

By newsgame

Once you’ve explored the fantastical world of Prismeria and trudged through the town in High on Life 2, you’ll encounter a Gatlian called Bowie who’s about to be executed for stealing money from the realm. You’ll need to have opened the jammed gate to get in, but once you have, you’re prompted to convince the crowd to stop the murderous proceedings.

However, this being High on Life 2, this is not the only way to progress the main quest, rescue Bowie, and kill your bounty, Finance Wiz James Stevenson. For all the options, and what happens if you go for each one, this High on Life 2 stop the execution guide is here to help.

What Happens If You Kill Lizzie in High on Life 2?

In High on Life 2, you get the option to kill Lizzie, your sister, or stick to the Bounty Hunter code. Here is what you should do.

Before you worry too much about how you approach this situation, especially when a timer appears above the gallows, know that you don’t gain or lose anything by taking a certain approach over another. There isn’t an achievement up for grabs, and, whatever happens, you claim Bowie as your next gun, and the Blue Wizard (James Stevenson) is summoned.

How to Convince the Crowd to Stop the Execution in High on Life 2

This is the option the game prompts you to do. To do this, you must find three influential members of the crowd and persuade them to encourage their section of the crowd to halt the killing. You can find them easily with your Info Scanner. If you want to stop the execution this way, you need to answer each person in the following ways:

  • When speaking to the male by the fountain, tell him that you’re there to stop the execution because they’re a Gatlian like you.
  • When speaking to the person standing on a platform, tell them how much you love blood and death, and that you really meant what you said.
  • For the remaining person, ask them whether a court system might be a fairer method of exacting justice.

If you follow these conversation strands, the execution is stopped, Bowie joins you, and the Blue Wizard appears.

High on Life 2: The Other Ways You Can Stop the Execution

If you don’t want to talk to people, you do have other options. They are:

  • You can let the countdown timer elapse, with the hanging not working because Bowie has no neck.
  • You can pull the lever behind the executioner to initiate the hanging yourself, with the same result. If you don’t shoot the executioner first, you get some additional dialogue from the executioner complaining that you took his job. Bowie is pretty generous and says, “No hard feelings.”
  • You can cut Bowie down with Knifey before pulling the lever. At this point, you can try to quickly claim Bowie, or the executioner boots you backwards and magically reattaches Bowie to the gallows, and you can try the other options.

In other words, you can steal Bowie, convince the crowd to stop the execution, or attempt to hang him yourself, but the result is the same in all outcomes: Bowie is added to your list of Gatlian firearms, and the Blue Wizard appears so you can continue the main story.
