New Open-World Game on Steam is Probably the Closest We’re Ever Getting to Bully 2
Beyond Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar’s one-off games like Bully and L.A. Noire are often slept on titles. Despite not being as popular as Rockstar’s juggernauts, Bully has maintained a cult following over the years that has held out hope for a sequel. Unfortunately, there don’t seem to be any known plans that point to Rockstar making a Bully sequel after the original version was cancelled. At this point, Bully 2 is a pipe dream, but Steam has a potential replacement on the way.
There are plenty of simulation games on Steam, but very few, if any, dive into what it was like living as a teen in the early 2000s. This is what makes Bully such a standout, even 20 years later. GTA and Red Dead Redemption clones have popped up through the years, but Bully pretty much remains on its own. Well, it used to. A new game coming to Steam could have all the features that are perfect for a Bully fan who has been patiently waiting for the sequel that doesn’t seem like it will ever happen. Agefield High: Rock the School puts players right in the middle of a 2000s teen comedy filled with crass jokes and nostalgia.
Agefield High: Rock the School Feels Like Bully and American Pie Wrapped Up Into One
The early 2000s were an incredibly special time in pop culture, especially when it comes to comedies. After American Pie was released in 1999, the arrival of the 2000s would bring forth a wave of raunchy teen-focused comedies that were goofy, vulgar, and almost always featured crazy parties and wild antics. Movies like The Girl Next Door, Not Another Teen Movie, John Tucker Must Die, and Bring It On were everywhere. Bully was the one video game to truly capitalize on this genre and actually nail its tone.

At Agefield High, You’re the New Kid in Town
Players take on the role of Sam, a newcomer to the titular high school. Since he’s on the verge of graduation, Sam thinks that being the fresh face on campus is going to make his last year before adulthood suck. Thankfully, Agefield High students Kale and Axel quickly befriend him in order to enact their plan of making these last few months of high school as wild as possible, cementing them as Agefield legends. Agefield High: Rock the School is aiming to recapture the magic that made Bully one of the best games of the 2000s.
Rebel with your friends, win over your dream girl and rock the school!
It’s going to be hard to reach the same heights as Bully, but even just capturing a piece of the game’s charm and gameplay loop will be a win. Agefield High: Rock the School takes note of Bully‘s open-world design and uses it as the perfect set piece for a story centered around friends trying to make their last days as high schoolers count.
This will be developer Refugium Games’ third project. Other titles from the studio include Greyhill Incident and Vacant’s Mine.
Agefield High: Rock the School is Promising Many of the Same Features That Made Bully So Much Fun
Between antics and going to class, Agefield High: Rock the School brings the early 2000s to life again. The game’s open world isn’t huge, but it allows players to freely roam as they please. Just like how some of the best open-world games on Steam bring freedom front and center, Agefield High: Rock the School does this with a variety of features that are bound to grab the attention of Bully fans.

Any good RPG features character customization, and Agefield High: Rock the School makes this possible with the various shops around town. Players can change Sam’s appearance with new clothes, haircuts, and even tattoos.
Right now, Agefield High: Rock the School doesn’t have an official release date set in stone yet. According to its Steam page, though, developers are expecting the project to be ready in time for Q2 of 2026. As the year continues, more information about Agefield High: Rock the School is bound to come to light before its launch.
Agefield High: Rock the School is currently only releasing for PC. There are plans for console versions, but it’s unclear when they will be ready.
While Bully Fans Hold Out Hope, Agefield High: Rock the School is Waiting in the Wings
A new Bully game would be ideal, but Agefield High: Rock the School is the closest thing fans are going to be getting for a while. Once the indie title finally releases, it will be interesting to see how it compares to the game that adapted the struggle of school and growing up so well.
