How to Unlock Fivefold Bleed in Where Winds Meet
Fivefold Bleed is an offensive Inner Art in Where Winds Meet that does exactly what its name implies: it gives your attacks a chance to inflict a bleeding effect that, upon reaching max stacks, detonates in a burst of damage. It’s a good passive perk to have if you want to max out your DPS early on, and it’s especially good if you’re using bleed-based weapon arts like the Strategic Sword and Heavenquaker Spear.
Unlocking Fivefold Bleed is fairly easy, but if you’ve just started the game, it’ll take some time before you can even come near it. Here’s what you need to do in order to unlock this Inner Art in Where Winds Meet.
Where Winds Meet: How to Bow (Emote)
In Where Winds Meet, players will encounter multiple areas and puzzles in the game world that require their character to perform a bow. Here’s how.
Where Winds Meet: Fivefold Bleed Location
You can get the tome needed to unlock Fivefold Bleed by going to Kaifeng, the second main region of the game. In order to reach Kaifeng in Where Winds Meet, you’ll need to complete the entirety of the first chapter and reach at least level 32.
Once you make it to Kaifeng, head to the city, and go to the Grand Imperial Temple, which is to the right of the main gate. There, you’ll see the A Faltering Flame Exploration Quest. You’ll need to complete that to get Fivefold Bleed.
Thankfully, A Faltering Flame is pretty straightforward unlike some other Where Winds Meet quests. Here, all you need to do is help the monk inside the temple find some of his disciples inside the Grand Temple and align their respective lamps. The game will hold your hand throughout the entire process, but there’s one thing to take note of here: you can only interact with one disciple per in-game day, so if you want to get this done with as quickly as possible, fast-forward the time by clicking on the Clock icon in the Escape/Start menu.
If you’re not sure what’s going on, here’s a breakdown of what to do:
- Speak with the Lamp-lighting Monk
- Go outside and find Benevolent Li
-
Go back to the monk, then complete a minigame
- For this minigame, move the glowing lamp to the glowing empty space on the board.
- Wait until the next in-game day
- Repeat the process until the quest is complete
You can easily find the location of the monk’s disciples by tracking the quest from your journal. Once you’re done with the quest, claim your rewards under the Wandering Tales section of your journal.
Fivefold Bleed Effects
Fivefold Bleed is a general Inner Art that works with every weapon and martial arts style. When equipped, each of your attacks have a 10% chance to apply a stack of Weeping Blood for a few seconds. Targets affected by Weeping Blood take a small amount of damage over time, stacking up to five times, and refreshing when another stack is inflicted. When Weeping Blood reaches five stacks, the status effect is removed, and the target receives a burst of damage.
Weeping Blood counts as a separate DoT effect from the bleeding caused by Strategic Sword attacks, which means you can have two damage-over-time effects active on your targets at the same time. When Weeping Blood pops, your Strategic Sword bleed stacks will remain on the target unless you consume them some other way. Heavenquaker Spear’s DoT amplification also works on Weeping Blood.
Fivefold Bleed’s damage output isn’t that amazing, but it’s good to have if you don’t have access to stronger Inner Arts like Morale Chant yet. It works well with the Infernal Twinblades because of how quickly you can attack with that weapon style.
