How to Get a Vehicle for Kiryu in Yakuza Kiwami 3

There are plenty of districts to explore in Yakuza Kiwami 3, and to save Kiryu’s legs from getting tired (and to save his strength for the battles to come), he can unlock a unique vehicle that allows him to drive around in style. While not as fancy or fast as a car or motorcycle, the Street Surfer gets the job done in humble fashion.

How to Get the Street Surfer in Yakuza Kiwami 3

Substory 11 — The Next-Gen Dream Machine

To get the Street Surfer in Yakuza Kiwami 3, you must first encounter Oka, who will crash into Kiryu during a secret cutscene. This cutscene can be found on W Ryuku Blvd., when venturing northeast onto Ryukyu Blvd. After the cutscene, you will have access to Substory 11 — The Next-Gen Dream Machine.

You can now find Oka being harassed by 3 Threatening Men on Ryukyu Central Hwy, which triggers a fight. After the fight, Oka will give Kiryu the Street Surfer, which can be accessed at any time by pressing Down on the D-Pad. However, be warned that the Street Surfer will explode after 10-seconds of use. It doesn’t deal any damage, and you can spawn a new one immediately after.

How to Upgrade the Street Surfer in Yakuza Kiwami 3

With the Street Surfer, you might be underwhelmed to see that it explodes every 10 seconds. Thankfully, there’s a way to upgrade it. Simply ride the Street Surfer multiple times and await a text from Oka, who will tell you to return to him on Ryukyu Central Hwy.

You can now visit Oka and upgrade the Street Surfer for 10,000 yen. You can continue to upgrade the Street Surfer by riding it and returning to Oka to spend more money each time in intervals of 10,000 yen. Each upgrade will reduce the risk of the Street Surfer exploding.
