Heian Boss Location In Nioh 3
The secret boss who’s located in Heian Era is the Demon of Envy, and she cannot be accessed until players complete the Sacred Mountain Defiled main quest in Nioh 3.
Head to the Hachijo area in the 1190 CE – Heian Era. The Demon of Envy is found inside a cave underground just north of Rajomon near the Anneibo Temple Shrine.
Head east from the waypoint and go up the platform. Turn left and hop to the other side until you are on a roof. Drop down to the lower one and players will find a big hole with a ladder.
Go down the ladder to find a body and the ghost of Kunimatsu. Follow it deeper inside the cave to eventually reach a big clearing where the Demon of Envy will appear.
The boss will mostly use her serpents to deal fire damage and occasionally attack you with her Katanas. She either sends the snake to spit fire while she attacks, or the Demon of Envy will jump high and rush forward to slam on you while doing a big fire damage AoE attack. Some fire pillars can also erupt from the ground, so try to avoid them. Most of her attacks are either her fire snake or slashing you with her weapon.
If possible, use a fire-resistant talisman to not take much damage and to take advantage of Burst Attack to damage her Ki when the opportunity arises. Make your Samurai style more tanky with Ki generation by equipping Indomitable Spirit, Recoup, and Unshakable skills in Skill Management. As for Ninja, you need to prioritize speed and damage by choosing Supreme Shift, Dodging, and Snakebite.
One of the best Soul Cores for this fight is the Ibaraki Doji core placed in the Yang position to slam a giant electrified hammer at the Demon of Envy. Using Onmyo Magic Items to increase defense and damage as well as slow down the boss area is also a great option. Make sure to have enough Magic stats to place multiple magic items. Players can try enhancing the equipment and Soul Cores to increase the damage to their summoned yokai.
Defeat the Demon of Envy and watch a small cutscene about Kunimatsu, then collect your rewards afterward. One of them is the Demon of Envy’s Soul Core, which grants players more powerful summons and Magic Items.
