New Battlefield 6 Map Has a Huge Problem

By newsgame

Battlefield 6 players have noticed that the helicopter flight ceiling on the new Eastwood map is incredibly low. This causes major issues for Battlefield 6 players who want to take the helicopter high into the sky in Eastwood, raising further concerns about how vehicle gameplay is being handled by Battlefield Studios.

Players have quickly discovered a few issues with Battlefield 6‘s Eastwood map, and have been quick to voice their concerns to the game’s developer. The good news is that, so far, Battlefield Studios has been quick to address many of the problems players have had with Battlefield 6, so there’s every chance the most frustrating issues will be solved in a future update. However, in the world of live service, where new content is being added all the time, it’s more important than ever that these problems are addressed before the next few maps are released.

‘I Have to Literally Grief My Teammates’ Battlefield 6 Support Challenge Criticized by Fans

Battlefield 6 players share their frustration at one of the game’s Support challenges.

Battlefield 6’s Eastwood Map Has an Incredibly Low Helicopter Flight Ceiling

As spotted by Redditor DBONKA, Battlefield 6‘s new Eastwood map has a low helicopter flight ceiling of just 100m. The player described it as a “cruel joke” by the developer, as it massively limits what players are able to do in the helicopter. Some players speculated that the helicopter was a late addition to Eastwood and, as a result, had limited testing time. One gamer even speculated that “Battlefield Studios doesnt want helicopters to be part of this game, they just wont admit it,” pointing out that other maps such as Manhattan Bridge, New Sobek City, and Blackwell Field all suffer from similar issues.

This sort of issue ties into the debate over Battlefield 6‘s map sizes. Many players have expressed annoyance with the smaller maps in Battlefield 6, as they were hoping for something closer to the all-out warfare seen in earlier games in the series. So to see a vehicle that goes a long way towards making maps feel more expansive be nerfed with a low flight ceiling in Eastwood is understandably a cause for frustration among the playerbase. In the thread, one player expressed the hope that “somewhere inside Dice they are laying out proper large BF maps with room to breathe, and working with the full suite of vehicles,” but others were less convinced.

Despite countless complaints from players, they haven’t stopped Battlefield 6 from becoming the best-selling shooter game of the year, according to EA. The initial hype for the game has translated into sales, and hopefully, this means plenty more content to come for Battlefield 6. Following the recent launch of the California Resistance chapter of Season 1, there’s still one significant content drop left for 2025: Winter Offensive, which is due to arrive on December 9. Winter Offensive will add the Ice Lock Empire State limited-time event and map, as well as the Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon. Whether there are any more surprises on the way remains to be seen.
