Marvel’s Wolverine Leak Reveals Potential Release Date
Insomniac’s upcoming PlayStation exclusive game, Marvel’s Wolverine, seems to have narrowed down a potential release date thanks to information found on the Latin American PlayStation Store. Marvel’s Wolverine has already been confirmed for a Fall 2026 release, with Sony sharing this launch window back during the September 2025 State of Play. However, that window may have been narrowed down even further based on new evidence appearing on the PlayStation Store.
Marvel’s Wolverine is positioned to be one of PlayStation’s biggest releases of the year, after Insomniac found success with its previous Marvel’s Spider-Man games. Now, the iconic X-Men mutant Logan is set to star in a visceral action game that boasts battles against foes like Omega Red and Mystique, and locations like the Canadian wilderness and Madripoor. Recent teases also suggest Marvel’s Wolverine may even include appearances from other Marvel heroes like Daredevil, She-Hulk, and Jean Grey.
Why You Should Replay The Marvel’s Spider-Man Games in 2026
While Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 hasn’t even been revealed yet, there are some other noteworthy reasons to replay the series this year.
Marvel’s Wolverine is Allegedly Releasing in Q3 2026, According to the Latin American PlayStation Store
According to the listing for Marvel’s Wolverine found on the Latin American PlayStation Store, the game is planned for a Q3 2026 release. This differs from the North American PlayStation Store, which still lists Marvel’s Wolverine as coming in Fall 2026. While it might seem like these two release windows are functionally the same, the overlap of the two might narrow down the game’s launch date even further.
Q3 includes the months of July through September, meaning that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released in one of those months if the information on the Latin American PlayStation Store is accurate. Considering the announced launch window of Fall 2026, the only month that falls within both Q3 and Fall 2026 is September. As such, it seems likely that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released in September 2026, assuming the game isn’t delayed until 2027.
How Marvel’s Wolverine’s Leaked Release Date Compares to Past Insomniac Releases
- Marvel’s Spider-Man — September 7, 2018
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales — November 12, 2020
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — October 20, 2023
Based on the release dates of Insomniac’s previous Marvel games, it’s reasonable to assume Marvel’s Wolverine could release in September. Marvel’s Spider-Man was released on September 7 back in 2018, despite its two sequels releasing later in the fall of their respective release years. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a launch title for the PS5, so it makes sense that it was released later than the others. With few heavy-hitting PlayStation exclusives slated for release in 2026, outside of Housemarque’s Saros in April, the rest of the year would be wide open for Sony to launch Marvel’s Wolverine.
The major factor to consider with any 2026 game releasing in the Fall is its proximity to the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto 6, which is currently planned to launch on November 19. With how much hype GTA 6 has behind it, other game publishers are likely going to distance their releases from Rockstar’s upcoming title. As such, it would make more sense for Marvel’s Wolverine to release on the earlier side of its Fall 2026 window than the later one, which also lines it up perfectly with the newly leaked Q3 window to leave September as the most likely month it will launch in.
Other major games confirmed for release in September 2026 include Halloween: The Game and Phantom Blade 0. The former is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the iconic movie franchise, while the latter is a stylish action RPG set in feudal Japan. Neither of these games has much overlap with Marvel’s Wolverine in terms of genre, so it would be far safer for Insomniac and Sony to release it alongside September’s line-up than risk being overshadowed by GTA 6 in November.
