Say Hello to Starsand Island’s Romance Options (& Be Prepared to Smooch ‘Em)
With a stipulated Q1 release date, Starsand Island might just be around the corner. With a February 11 Early Access release date, it’s lining up suspiciously well with the season of pink everything, discount chocolate, and the annual reminder that romance, real or fictional, is kind of unavoidable. And honestly, there are worse ways to spend Valentine’s season than curled up with a cozy life sim that actively wants you to flirt, fall in love, and make emotionally questionable decisions in a low-stakes, picturesque environment.
There are already 12 romance options announced, with more likely on the way. Players will soon get to flirt their way through Starsand Island, figuring out who to commit to and who’s just there for fun. Here’s a look at every confirmed romance option so far. Think of this as your chance to check out future crushes and get ready to get attached to at least one of them.
Stardew Valley: The 6 Best (& 6 Worst) Romances
Stardew Valley is an unobtrusive game that stole players’ hearts, and here are the best and worst in-game romance options.
The Romanceable Guys of Starsand Island
Aurelis: The Serious Chef With a Secret Nerd Streak
Aurelis is set to inherit a global culinary empire, which explains his spotless chef’s uniform and serious attitude. He runs the only restaurant on Starsand Island‘s map and at first seems polished, distant, and very aware of everyone’s expectations. But if you get to know him, his calm exterior fades and you’ll see he’s actually a huge food science nerd. Maybe love is what it takes for this refined chef to finally let loose.
Delphin: Childhood Friend, Ocean Guy, Fan Favorite
Originally spelled Delfin and later changed to Delphin, this surfer-fisher-diver-ocean romantic is your childhood friend and fishing mentor. He’s loyal to a fault and basically lives in or near the water at all times. Delphin is allergic to beating around the bush, which has already made him wildly popular with fans. He’s the kind of guy who will say exactly what he feels over a fishing mini-game, and Starsand Island players are in for a treat.
Graminova: Botanist, Farming Mentor, Secret Softie
Graminova is all about seriousness—he has a PhD, respects plants, and is quietly intense. As your Farming Mentor, he’s so focused on his botanical work that some islanders think he’s grumpy. In truth, he’s calm, thoughtful, and maybe just shy. When he talks, it’s with real purpose. Graminova is the kind of romance in gaming that grows on you over time, like a carefully tended plant.
Loren: Arcade Owner, Chill King
Loren is one of the last romance options revealed. There aren’t many details yet, but he’s a cheerful, easy-going gamer who runs the island’s arcade. He cares more about people having fun than making money. Loren is all about good times and community. If you want to date someone who’d let you win just to make you happy, Loren’s your pick.
Zephyria: Exploration Mentor With Main Character Energy
Zephyria leads the Exploration Club and is an archery fan, making him your main guide for combat and dungeon adventures under the island. He’s curious, adventurous, and always ready for a side quest. Zephyria, first rumored to be non-binary but now referred to with he/him pronouns, has an androgynous charm, a heroic vibe, and is eager to help you get ready for danger.
Fields of Mistria: All Romanceable Bachelors and Bachelorettes
Every romance option in Fields of Mistria offers players a unique bachelor or bachelorette that has their own unique traits.

Lunelle: Fashionable, Wealthy, Dangerously Kind
Players who will be treating Starsand Island like a dress-up game will get very familiar with Lunelle. Lunelle owns the clothing store and comes from a wealthy background, but she’s still one of the kindest people on the island. She loves fashion but believes real beauty comes from within, which is impressive considering how stylish she always looks. She’s modest, elegant, and always listens when others need support. If you want a gentle and emotionally safe romance, Lunelle is the one.
Neona: Former Biker Gang Leader, Current Coolest Woman Alive
Neona runs the vehicle shop and used to lead a motorcycle club. That tells you almost everything you need to know about her. She’s confident, direct, glamorous, and not afraid to sprinkle Cantonese slang into conversation while revving an engine. Romancing a character in Starsand Island like Neona offers security with a side of danger: the thrilling kind that smells faintly of gasoline, bad decisions, and no regrets.
Pastelle: Shy Rancher, Animal Whisperer
Pastelle runs the ranch and is your Livestock Mentor. She’s great with animals but shy around people. She’s gentle, sensitive, and takes criticism to heart, which makes her kindness even more special. Pastelle has appeared in many Starsand Island previews, so fans already know her. She loves deeply, even if she struggles to show it. If you’re patient, she’ll adore you—and you’ll probably meet every animal she cares for as a reward.
Serena: Polished Exterior, Hidden Dreams
Serena owns the furniture store and presents herself as graceful, composed, and slightly mysterious. Dig a little deeper, though, and you’ll find a design prodigy with ambitions she’s kept carefully hidden from the world. She leaves sketches in odd places, dreams bigger than she lets on, and might just need someone to believe in her enough to chase them.
Solara: Childhood Best Friend With Zero Chill
Solara has been in every trailer for a reason. She’s the mayor’s granddaughter, your childhood best friend, and walking sunshine with a very obvious unresolved crush on you. She’s bubbly, kind, deeply involved in island life, and emotionally invested in your return. Whether you reciprocate those feelings or not, the slow burn is up to you.
Stella: Pop-Punk Dreamer, Musical Wildcard
Stella doesn’t appear in the demo, but her aesthetic alone tells a story. She dreams of becoming a pop-punk musical sensation, performs at Aurelis’s restaurant in the evenings, and works at the pet store by day. She’s colorful, lively, and gives off strong “main character in a rhythm mini-game” energy. If music becomes a full pastime, don’t be surprised if Stella is leading the charge.
Zerine: Crafting Mentor, Soft Gamer Girl
Zerine owns the general store and serves as your Crafting Mentor. She’s shy, timid, and has undergone a dramatic redesign since Starsand Island’s early phases. She’s shifted from cybergoth gamer girl to something much softer.
