Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined has a great deal of hidden objectives and some side quests players can enjoy if they pay enough attention. The Sizzling Stone is one of the first sub-quest items players might hear about, and it happens as soon as they enter Estard.
Some might be a bit intrigued as to where to find the Sizzling Stone, since its whereabouts are a mystery at first. But stick around for a bit, and you’ll learn all about this mysterious quest item, where to find it, and what to do with it.

Where to Find the Sizzling Stone in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined
During the intro cutscene, when players arrive in the city of Estard for the first time, players might notice a singular NPC that enters the local tavern running. Following this, NPC will reveal that it’s none other than Pike, the Main Character’s Uncle who is drowning in debt.
Talking to the NPC next to him will trigger a brief dialogue that reveals Pike was planning to sell an item to pay his debt: The Sizzling Stone. The problem is this stone has been lost, and no matter what Pike says or where players search for it, it simply doesn’t appear.
This ‘hidden objective’ that lies in plain sight is deeply connected to Dragon Quest VII’s Main Story and one of the most important characters in the adventure. So, there are lots of spoilers ahead.
- The first step to find the Sizzling Stone is to meet Prince Kiefer and trigger the main Quest.
- After that, speak to the King and head outside of Estard to meet Kiefer at the nearby ruins
- Upon reaching the ruins, turn a bit to the left to find Kiefer standing next to a statue with a torch
- Talk to him and run through the dialogue, to figure out what he’s trying to do
- When he fails to activate the statue by trying everything, he will hand out the Sizzling Stone to the Main Character
Once players have the Sizzling Stone, it’s going to be sitting in their inventory for a while. So, be patient.
Now, turning the stone back to Pike won’t happen immediately, so keep completing the main objectives, like solving the Shadow Puzzle in the Trial Room, and then going on a search for the remaining three Yellow Tablet Fragments.
It is precisely at this point that the Sizzling Stone’s story continues, when players meet Pike for a Second Time. This time, to help him pick up some Shiny Bottles for a certain ‘plan’ he has.
After collecting the bottles, players will need to meet him at Rainbow Cove, where he will reveal the access to yet another Puzzle Room. Solving it is quite simple: Just push the rocks to block the water current and reveal the door leading to the Stone Tablet Fragment.
After picking the Fragment, Pike will snatch the Sizzling Stone back, and there will be a prolonged pause until players need this Quest Item again. So, for the moment, players won’t be able to do anything with the Sizzling Stone. As thanks for recovering the stone, though, Pike will offer players three Bottles of Holy Water.
Further ahead, the Sizzling Stone plays a fundamental role in resurrecting the Hero of Legend (Sir Mervyn) after the events at Wetlock. But this comes really far down the journey, so hold still for the moment.
