Final Fantasy 7 Remake Mystery Drink: Effects & Consequences
In Chapter 9 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, players will find themselves with a number of side quests to complete. This is also the section of the game that features the classic Honeybee Inn sequence with crossdressing Cloud, as well as several fights in the Corneo Colosseum with Aerith (where you’ll end up fighting a pretty tough boss called Hell House).
Once you get to the Colosseum section of Chapter 9, you can speak to Johnny in one of the break rooms before the first battle. If you examine the object on the table next to him, you’ll find a mystery drink that Cloud can choose to drink. Johnny says the drink is a gift from Don Corneo himself, and that it will make people ‘raring to go for hours on end.’ So, should you drink it?

Final Fantasy 7 Remake has 31 music discs for players to collect during their run through the story, but some locations are not obvious.
Should You Drink the Mystery Drink in FF7 Remake?
To get right to it, if Cloud chooses to drink the mystery drink, it won’t have any effect on him, as far as stats go. However, deciding to ingest it will slightly change the side quests that Cloud and the gang can partake in during Chapter 9 –it can also affect the dress that Cloud ends up in later on in the story.
There are two paths you can end up on during Chapter 9 –the Madam M path or the Chocobo Sam path. If you drink it, you’ll get a point towards the Sam route, and if you decide not to drink it, you won’t gain points for either route.
There are other choices in this chapter that will change the route, such as Sam’s coin flip decision, the type of massage you purchase from Madam M’s spa, and other little dialogue choices here and there.
Name That Game

Easy (15s)Medium (10s)Hard (5s)
If you end up on the Sam route, you will get the ‘Party Never Stops’ and ‘A Dynamite Body’ side quests. And if you end up on Madam M’s path, you will get ‘The Price of Thievery’ and ‘Shear’s Counterattack’ quests.
The rewards for the quests are pretty much the same, so the only thing you need to worry about is the final dress Cloud will wear (if you care about unlocking the Dressed to the Nines trophy/achievement). It requires you to see all the dresses for Tifa, Aerith, and Cloud. Otherwise, you don’t need to worry too much about the mystery drink choice.
