Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 & Warzone Season 2 Full Content Breakdown
New Multiplayer Maps & Mode
Four maps make their way to Multiplayer at the launch of Season 2, some of which are old favorites, while others are original battlegrounds never seen before. Torment (Small 6v6), Sake (Medium 6v6), and Nexus (Small 2v2/6v6) are the new original maps for Season 2, arriving at launch, while Slums (Medium 6v6) from Black Ops 2 also returns day one.
Four additional maps arrive mid-season, including Mission: Peak (Skirmish map), Cliff Town, also known as Yemen from Black Ops 2 (Medium 6v6), and the Black Ops 6 versions of both Grind and Firing Range.
As for new game modes, Safeguard arrives at launch, the escort game mode first seen in Black Ops 3. Overdrive also debuts, bringing a Team Deathmatch ruleset, but this time giving players unique buffs for racking up kills, such as the ability to see enemies through walls, increased movement speed, and improved hip fire accuracy.
Both Luck Confirmed and Third Wheel Gunfight arrive later during the launch window, with the latter being a returning mode and the former being a new addition that functions like Kill Confirmed, but with the chance to find a lucky drop that awards an extra 100 points. More modes also arrive mid-season, including Gauntlet and Infected.
Global Weapons & Loadout Additions
Five new weapons arrive during the first half of Season 2, four of which are available at launch, with an additional fifth arriving through an event. The REV-46 SMG, EGRT-17 AR, and the H311-SAW Melee Weapon arrive in the Battle Pass, while the GDL Havoc Launcher is unlockable through Weekly Challenges, and the SG-12 Shotgun from Black Ops 4 returns through the Escalation Directive Event.
Two more weapons arrive for the mid-season, notably the Voyak KT-3 Assault Rifle and the Swordfish A1 Marksman Rifle. As for more launch content additions, the XM325 Titan Wield belt-fed ammo attachment, the FANG HoverPoint ELO optic, the A.R.C. M1 Assault Frame, and the Razor 9mm Wildfire rapid-fire conversion arrive through weekly challenges, with two more attachments arriving mid-season.
Mars Survival & More Zombies Updates
Zombies also receives some new content for Season 2’s launch, with the biggest addition being the arrival of Mars Survival. Players can jump into the Mars portion of Astra Malorum in Survival mode, this time with additional Wall Buys, a Pack-a-Punch, Der Wunderfizz, and a Mystery Box, all without having to face off against O.S.C.A.R. Instead, you will fight Uber Klaus in higher rounds.
Cursed Survival also arrives at launch, giving players the ability to play Survival with the same Cursed mechanics as round-based Cursed, while also being able to apply the Relics they have already unlocked to tailor the difficulty to their liking. Last up is the Starting Room mode, which locks players into the spawn room on each round-based map.
As for additional content, players can expect a new GobbleGum and Scorestreak at mid-season. The next full round-based Zombies map, Paradox Junction, does not arrive until Season 2 Reloaded.
Endgame Skills, Nightmare Zones, & More
The first major update for Endgame is the arrival of Guild Strikes and Nightmare Zones, areas of the map that are one level more difficult than the Tier IV Zone. In these zones, players can take on the Strike Boss, complete other objectives, face off against increased enemy difficulty, and participate in activities that offer better rewards.
Power Nodes also arrive at launch and can be found in different areas of the map to increase players’ Combat Rating. An additional Eagle Eye Skill Tree also debuts at launch, alongside two new abilities. The first is Sentinel Protocol, which allows players to call in a Guild robot to fight alongside them. The second is the Blood Burner, which brings back the Wonder Vehicle from Modern Warfare Zombies.
Rebirth Island Winter Refresh, Game Modes, and More Warzone Updates
Warzone Season 2 kicks into full gear with new map changes to Rebirth Island. Enter Rebirth Island Winter Refresh, a snowy version of the popular Resurgence map. Featuring new POIs like Turbine and Outpost, along with revamped lines of sight and the inclusion of new Dynamic Infil Events, such as hazardous gas zones that disappear over time, Rebirth is definitely getting some neat changes entering the new season.
New game modes also enter the fray. At launch, Loaded Resurgence and Loaded Resurgence Casuals return, while Rush Resurgence debuts later during the launch window, featuring faster redeploys and redeploys closing after the third circle. Rush Resurgence will run on weekends up until Season 2 Reloaded, where it will be replaced with Extreme Resurgence.
As for more modes, Iron Gauntlet Beta will debut at mid-season, and the highly anticipated Blackout experience on Avalon is also set to arrive with the Reloaded update. More win streak camos will also arrive at launch, with players able to earn Stabilimentum and Chroma Mire in Battle Royale, and Metallic Shade and Stereogramic in Resurgence. The final drop is the arrival of new perks, which are as follows:
- Field Medic (replacing Veteran in Slot 1): Revive players faster. Revived players receive an inserted armor plate and a temporary speed boost. Bleedout time is increased. Provides resistance to tactical equipment effects.
- Drill Instructor (replacing Grenadier in Slot 1): Begin regenerating health when sprinting. Nearby teammates move and mantle faster (does not stack with other movement-enhancing perks).
- Surveyor (replacing Cold Blooded in Slot 1): Showcases enemies interacting with nearby Buy Stations and Contracts on the map. Increases the area coverage of UAVs. Highlights downed enemies through walls at close range
Ranked Play for Black Ops 7 & Warzone
Ranked Play for Black Ops 7 arrives on day one of Season 2, featuring the same rules and restrictions as the Call of Duty League. To unlock Ranked Play, players will need to win 50 Multiplayer games, with LTMs and Party Games not counting, and wins earned before the season also apply. In Ranked Play, players can earn a range of rewards, including Win Challenges, Rank Skins, camos, and Calling Cards that reflect their current rank, and more.
Ranked Play: Resurgence also arrives for Warzone in Season 2 during the initial launch window, featuring restrictions such as only being able to use Black Ops 7 weapons, along with limitations on certain attachments, equipment, and Perk categories. In Ranked Play: Resurgence Season 2, players can earn Career Rewards by earning placements, including Ranked Skins, camos, and more that reflect their achieved rank.
Limited-Time Events & Rewards
The last bit of content dropping for the first half of Season 2 is the debut of four Events, each running from the launch window of Season 2 up until mid-season. Through these events, players can unlock the SG-12 Shotgun, universal camos, and much more. These events are as follows:
- Escalation Directive Camo Event
- Mars Leaderboard Event (Zombies Exclusive)
- Hunt or Be Hunted Event
- Dead Ops Arcade Leaderboard Event (Dead Ops Arcade Exclusive)
Weekly Challenges also arrive with Season 2, allowing players to unlock two additional universal camos. As for the mid-season, players can expect to see the Paradox Junction Event and potentially an Event Pass.
