Resident Evil Requiem Leaker Addresses Ada’s Status in the New Game

By newsgame

As audiences count down the final days until the launch of Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, one of the most prominent leakers in the Resident Evil community has responded to rumors of franchise favorites Ada Wong and Chris Redfield potentially making a big return in the new game, though fans may be disappointed to hear that the alleged character appearances are a “fake leak.” Resident Evil Requiem has already officially confirmed the highly-anticipated return of Leon S. Kennedy, who will co-star alongside new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, and despite broad assumptions about Ada and Leon’s connections throughout the franchise and undeniable importance of Chris Redfield, fans should hold off on expecting to see either of the two in Requiem.

Capcom certainly took longer than many expected to officially reveal Leon as one of the playable characters in Resident Evil Requiem, especially after numerous leaks regarding his expected presence and potential gameplay features were being widely shared in online spaces. Understandably, Capcom wanted to not only give Grace her own time in the spotlight, but the studio no doubt preferred building extra hype and anticipation ahead of Leon’s long-awaited confirmation as one of the leads in Requiem. Even with both Leon and Grace taking center stage in Resident Evil Requiem, franchise fans have been keeping their fingers crossed for additional surprise appearances from fellow series regulars. Unfortunately, the latest comments from one of the most renowned Resident Evil leakers have seemingly squashed any hopes for two beloved characters’ rumored return.

Resident Evil Requiem Gets Encouraging Update Ahead of Its Launch Next Month

Resident Evil Requiem passes a subtle but important milestone in the leadup to its February 2026 launch, and it may come as a sigh of relief for fans.

Resident Evil Requiem Ada Wong and Chris Redfield Rumor is “Fake”

Responding to a rumor that falsely accredited him as the source, Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has shut down a “fake leak” that claimed Ada Wong and Chris Redfield would be appearing in Resident Evil Requiem. Dusk Golem clearly stated that he does not believe “Chris or Ada are in Resident Evil Requiem at all…at least in any meaningful way.” Responding to follow-up questions, he reminded fans that Requiem‘s director has already spoken in an official capacity in stating Chris would not be in the game, though Dusk Golem acknowledged the possibility of Chris or Ada being mentioned in a file or similar off-handed reference or Easter egg. While Dusk Golem has mentioned “murmurs” of an older Resident Evil character making a surprise appearance in a potential Resident Evil Requiem DLC, he remains adamant that neither Ada nor Chris will appear in Requiem “from what [he’s] heard.”

It is important to keep in mind that any details about a game, even from leakers who have been right in the past, remain nothing more than rumors and speculation until an official announcement has been made by the developer. As such, there is currently no absolute way of knowing who will or will not appear in Resident Evil Requiem, outside the already confirmed characters and the official comment on Chris not being in the game. That said, the story and setting of Resident Evil Requiem could open up the possibility of a familiar face making a return, so interested fans will want to stay tuned for any further updates ahead of the game’s launch.

After Resident Evil 7 and Village turned the focus to series newcomer Ethan Winters, it is understandable that longtime fans are hoping to see more than just Leon S. Kennedy making a triumphant return in Requiem. Whether those wishes will be granted remains to be seen, though the confirmed presence of the Umbrella Corporation in Resident Evil Requiem has many hopeful that the upcoming game will have more than Leon and Raccoon City on offer for a return to form. Resident Evil Requiem launches for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 27.
