Paving The Way Quest In Arknights Endfield

By newsgame

Paving the Way is one of the main quests in Arknights: Endfield. It’s a mission that falls under The Turbid Heavens Chapter I – Process II, and it’s available after completing the Fort Showdown quest. There is no fighting involved in this quest, as you simply need to learn more about the Hub and how to unlock more constructs to create better materials. Here’s a guide to completing the Paving the Way quest in Endfield.

Meet Andre at the AIC Core Area to start the Paving the Way quest in Arknights: Endfield. The owl explains the improvements you can make to the factory. The game then asks players to open the AIC Factory Plan, which unlocks the development tree where Endmins will gain access to more advanced constructs.

Before unlocking anything, you need to gather some AIC Index Points from the Protocol Datalogger. They are marked on the map and can be found in the shape of a tall yellow balloon.

From the AIC Factory Plan, Endmins can take advantage of the Simulation feature, which allows them to learn how to handle all the constructs and what materials they require to function. Players will have goals inside the Simulation, and completing them grants rewards.

Mining II

The first recommended construction is Mining II to mine rare ores, such as Amethyst, and it has the belt-free transfer feature, which moves the materials directly to the PAC. Enter the Electric Mining Rig to start the Simulation.

While in building mode, do the following:

  • Place three Electric Mining Rigs on three Amethyst beds
  • Place an Electric Pylon that covers the Mining Rigs. It’s okay to put multiple Pylons if needed.
  • Start Transmission from a nearby Relay Tower and plug it into the Pylon to power it up, thus activating the rigs.
  • Interact with the Electric Mining to make sure it’s belt-free and active. There will be an “unplugged” logo if the rig is not powered.

As the machines are ready, approach the PAC Output Port and unload the Amethyst Ore to a Refining Unit to start making Amethyst Fiber. This completes the Simulation, and players are transported back to their factory.

Follow the quest mark and place two Electric Mining Rigs on the Amethyst beds, then put an Electric Pylon in the middle.

Find a nearby Relay Tower to power up the machines, just as you did in the Simulation.

Head to the Originium Ore mining spots and remove the old mining machines if present. To stash the old machine, interact with the rig, choose quick action, then stash.

Place the two Electric Mining Rigs and power the Pylon from the PAC itself if desired, as it is within 80 meters.

Grab 50 Amethyst and 50 Originium from the rigs or PAC and hand them over to Andre.

Gearing Tech

Next thing on the list is Gearing Tech, a machine used to combine materials into products.

Here are the steps for this tutorial:

  • Use the Belt to connect the PAC Output Port 1 to the Refining Unit.
  • Create a Belt from the PAC Output Port 3 to the other Refining Unit.
  • Put a Belt from both units into the Gearing Unit.
  • Approach PAC Output Port 1 and unload Originium Ore.
  • Unload Amethyst Ore in PAC Output Port 3.

As the Refining Units are creating Origocrust and Amethyst Fiber, the Gearing Unit will take five of each to make one Amethyst Component.

Next, open the Blueprints option from the AIC Factory Options in the bottom right corner to see the Amethyst Component Blueprint. Placing it will configure the necessary machines automatically, as you just need to connect it to the PAC.

After finishing the Simulation, head to your Hub and open the Blueprints section to place the Amethyst Component Blueprint. Simply unload the Amethyst Ore and Originium Ore in the Outputs and wait for 20 Amethyst Components to craft.

Parts Fitting

The final part of the Paving the Way quest is to unlock the Parts Fitting and create some Amethyst Parts. Open the development tree and use a Basic AIC Index to unlock the Parts Fitting.

In your Hub, build a Fitting Unit across an unused Output from the PAC. Unload some Amethyst Fiber in the PAC Output Port and link it to the unit with a moving Belt.

If players wish to be more efficient, place a Refining Unit before the Fitting Unit and link them with a Belt. Next, create a Belt to unload from the Fitting Unit to the PAC. This way, Amethyst Ore becomes Fiber and then transforms into Parts to finally get stored in the Depot.
