How to Obtain Storm Leather in Hytale
Storm Leather is a craftable resource, meaning that players need to use other materials to craft it. To get one piece of Storm Leather, players need to gather the following ingredients:
- Cindercloth Scraps
- Shadoweave Scraps
- Linen Scraps
- Heavy Leather
Linen Scraps are the easiest component to get, since it drops from regular Skeletons that pop out almost anywhere in the map.
The best place to get Cindercloth Scraps is located in the Volcanic Biome, which is often an island in the middle of the Sea, and the Dino Biome. Most of the creatures that drop Cindercloth Scraps also live in underground caves near lava, so keep away from it at all costs, lest you want to be roasted.
Shadoweave Scraps drop from the Barbarians that inhabit the Snow Mountain Biome. So, assaulting their fortresses and taking them out will result in a quick gain of this resource.
Players need four pieces of each of these resources to craft Storm Leather. But before even starting with the processing, they will require the appropriate crafting stations for it: The Workbench and the Tanning Rack.

Crafting the Workbench and Tanning Rack is one of the first things players do in Hytale, but to unlock the crafting recipe for the Storm Leather, players also need to level up the Workbench to level 3.
This requires a hefty sum of resources, which includes: 30x Copper Ingot, 20x Iron Ingot, 20x Linen Scraps for Tier 2. On the other hand, players will need 30x Thorium Ingot, 20x Cobalt Ingot, 30x Heavy Leather, 50x Shadoweave Scraps, and 25 Essence of Fire for the Tier 3 upgrade needed to unlock the Storm Leather recipe.
Once this is done, players just need to select the recipe from the Workbench and start crafting Storm Leather. Remember that the workbenches only take into consideration materials stored in the Chests that are 12 blocks away at ground level and 4 blocks above the placement of the crafting station.
Storm Leather recipes have been disabled from V1 Worlds, so it would be better to reload the game after the 2.0 update has been applied and create a new world using V2 as a seed. Take into consideration that V2 worlds are still unstable and being tested.
