Beginner Tips for Quarantine Zone The Last Check

By newsgame

If players select the campaign in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, they will thankfully have their hand held through tutorials, with new tools and mechanics being unlocked day by day. However, there are some things that the game doesn’t explain, so here are some tips and tricks for Quarantine Zone that can help players survive, hopefully with no zombie outbreaks.

How to Deal With the Skeleton Survivor in Quarantine Zone The Last Check

Players will come across a peculiar survivor early on in the Quarantine Zone: The Last Check campaign – here’s how to handle them.

By doing well when inspecting for symptoms, players will be rewarded with more money and Research Points, allowing them to acquire upgrades, which in turn will help make the checkpoint safer and more effective. Success breeds success in this zombie game.

Develop A Routine So You Don’t Forget Anything

As players unlock more and more tools and discover new symptoms, as well as new mechanics, it becomes harder to remember everything, and one mistake could be costly for the entire checkpoint. For this reason, it’s best to develop a routine, performing each task one after another in the morning, and then carrying out survivor inspections in the same way. It will soon become muscle memory.

An example routine might be:

  • Wake up.
  • Check that there is enough food, med kits, and power.
  • Feed any zombies in the cage with corpses.
  • Recheck those in Quarantine.
  • Read the bulletin board.
  • Begin inspections.
  • Check bags first for contraband, as it’s easy to forget afterwards.
  • Start with the eyes and skin using a flashlight.
  • Cycle through the tools, one by one, checking for each symptom type.
  • Go to the Laboratory if you sent anyone there for research.

On a more micro level, you might also develop a routine for inspecting bodies with the Scanner in the exact same way, making sure no spot is missed. For example, you might start with the head and make your way down.

If you don’t recognize some of these steps, don’t worry, they will be unlocked on later days.

Take Your Time, Check Sides, Feet, & Every Angle

There is no rush in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, so feel free to take your time and double-check all possible symptoms thoroughly. Missing one infected symptom could risk the lives of the entire checkpoint. Players will also want to make sure they inspect survivors from every angle, as skin symptoms can appear anywhere. Physically walk around them to look from behind and the sides, looking for bite marks, necrosis, and other deadly signs of infection.

Bite marks can even appear on feet, so don’t neglect to look there, and you can use crouch plus zoom to get a closer look. These checks should be carried out with the Scanner once it is unlocked, and both of its upgrades help significantly.

Players can use Research Points to upgrade the checkpoint and certain tools. Two upgrades stand out above the rest. First of all, is the color upgrade for the Thermopulser. This makes reading pulses and temperatures much easier, as players don’t need to remember the thresholds, as green is healthy, orange is elevated, and red is extreme. Just make sure you still hold it down for long enough, as both readings take a few seconds to settle.

The second upgrade to prioritize is the one that allows the Scanner to see through blood and dirt. Some skin symptoms can be hard to distinguish from dirt, but with this upgrade, no blood or dirt will be seen, making diagnoses easier and more accurate.

Switch Drone Weapons During Zombie Outbreaks

Every few days, alarm bells will ring, and players will head over to the laptop in their room to pilot a drone. However, beginner players in Qurantine Zone: The Last Check might not realize that there are more weapons than just the machine gun. Weapons can be cycled with the scroll wheel.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check players have to locate a person with a bruised face, as they’ve committed a horrible crime – here’s how to find them.

Switching between these is optimal, as they all serve different purposes, and the larger guns take longer to reload, during which time, another weapon can be fired. Try to save these big guns for large clusters and the beefier zombies in the second wave. Meanwhile, use the machine gun in short bursts, picking off targets who get too close to the wall or waiting for lines to form. Lastly, try to save the pre-placed explosive barrels for large clusters.

Step Back After Using The Hammer To Avoid Being Hit

Quarantine Zone The Last Check - Hammer

The Reflex hammer is unlocked early on, and one orange symptom is that survivors will hit back when struck by the hammer. To avoid losing health and disorientation, players can step back as they hit someone with the hammer, helping them to dodge a possible attack.

This should be done more so if the survivor has a slack jaw, as that is a sign of faulty reflexes. Survivors who have already shown other symptoms before testing with the hammer are also more likely to hit back than otherwise healthy individuals. Dodging these attacks becomes imperative when aggressive infected begin to appear, as they may do more than just one hit.

Don’t Waste Syringe Analyzers

Quarantine Zone The Last Check - Syringe Analyzer - Infected

Unlocked on the 11th day, the Syringe Analyzers can confirm with 100% accuracy whether a survivor is infected or not. However, players have a limited supply of these and can only receive more Syringes every five days. For this reason, it’s best to use them sparingly, saving them for the right time.

For example, never use a Syringe Analyzer before fully testing a survivor for every known symptom with each available tool. Finding any red symptom will also confirm a patient to be infected. There’s also no point using Syringe Analyzers on those with no symptoms or only green sickness symptoms, as they are unlikely to be infected, and Syringe supplies are too few to use on these. Instead, save Syringe Analyzers for the end of the day for anyone you sent to Quarantine who has a few orange symptoms.

Use Quarantine As Temporary Storage

While Quarantine can be used simply to hold survivors overnight to see if they get better or turn into zombies, it can also be used as temporary storage during the day. For example, Quarantine can be used to gather candidates to use the Syringe Analyzer on. Another use would be if you think you are spotting new symptoms, but aren’t sure. Send them to Quarantine, and then later in the day, decide who to send to the laboratory for testing.

Ask Your Mom Quest Quarantine Zone The Last Check

Players will need to complete the Ask Your Mom quest in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, which requires them to find graffiti poems around camp.

Quarantine can also be used to store confirmed infected, allowing them to turn into zombies who can be stored in the cage and evacuated for large cash rewards. Upgrading the Quarantine to hold more survivors will help with using it as a temporary holding cell.

Equip Your Gun At The Start Of Inspections & Remember It’s Hotkey

Quarantine Zone The Last Check - Pistol Pointed at Infected

The gun is unlocked after the first two evacuations, as infected and some sick people become more aggressive. From this moment on, equip your pistol before calling the next survivor through, as a few of them will run right at you.

These aggressive survivors also don’t like being sent to Liquidation, and will turn around to attack you, so equip your gun again before sending them. It’s also good to remember the hotkey for the pistol in case of emergencies, where experience with FPS games will help.
