Overwatch 2 Fans Should Circle November 17 On Their Calendars

Overwatch 2 will finally reveal Hero 45 on November 17. Players will soon be able to learn about the so-called “She-Wolf of Retribution,” whom Overwatch 2 has been teasing for most of the year.

During the Overwatch 2 Spotlight event in February, Blizzard officially revealed Freja and Wuyang, then codenamed as “Aqua,” as the first two heroes of 2025. However, it also began teasing the third hero in the form of a small cartoon in the background. Over the next many months, it would continue teasing this mysterious gladiator through map Easter eggs, April Fools’ Day developer notes, sound effects, comics, and, most recently, a hidden mask in Overwatch 2’s Haunted Masquerade game mode.

Overwatch 2 Hero 45 Reveal Coming November 17

Now, the wait to meet the she-wolf is nearly over. Overwatch 2 has officially scheduled the hero trailer for Hero 45 on YouTube to be released on November 17 at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET. This big reveal will likely show off the character’s gameplay, model, and full suite of abilities, giving fans a full scope of what the character can do.

Few details have been confirmed about Hero 45 so far, but some of the previous hints have started to paint a clearer picture. The silhouette in the “Reconciliation” comic between Ramattra and Zenyatta in Overwatch 2 was clearly wielding a sword, likely the one seen on the Arena Victoriae map. Her secret Haunted Masquerade mask also gave a boost to movement and attack speed when dealing melee or ability damage, suggesting the hero will potentially do something similar. It remains to be seen what role she will be, but considering Overwatch 2 released a damage hero this year with Freja, she will likely be a tank.

With the Hero 45 trailer scheduled for Monday next week, players will hopefully also see a backstory cinematic, and possibly even a new motion comic, in the days following. Fans can expect these videos to be available via the in-game Story feature added in the Overwatch 2 mid-Season 19 update. Additionally, her limited-time hero trial will likely take place the following weekend starting November 20, concurrently with the return of the Junkrat’s Loot Hunt event.

Regardless, players won’t have to wait long to get their hands on Hero 45 permanently. Season 20 is currently planned to arrive on December 9, only a few weeks after her reveal. Regardless of how she plays, Hero 45 will undoubtedly change Overwatch 2 once she officially enters the arena.
