How to Get Surveyor Vaults in Arc Raiders (Mixed Signal Quest)
A lot of the quests are related to the different ARC enemies in Arc Raiders. Mixed Signals is one of Shani’s quests where players have to deal with an ARC Surveyor and obtain a Surveyor Vault from it. These enemies are very hard to come by, and chances are players might not have even interacted with one at this point in the game. The guide below offers information on their location and how to destroy them because they have a knack for rolling away in Arc Raiders.
Updated January 13, 2026, by Waseem Muhammad: ARC Surveyors are the only harmless enemies in the game. These enemies can drop Blueprints, so destroying them whenever one spawns is not a bad idea. The guide below has been updated to include additional information on how to deal with the ARC Surveyors and the best weapons and explosives to use. The main reason for this is to destroy them quickly before they can roll away from the player.

How to Find & Destroy ARC Surveyors in Arc Raiders
ARC Surveyors are the ball-like machines that roll around the map and start to roll away if you start shooting at them. You can find them on any map, but the chances of them spawning are low, and even if they spawn, finding them can be difficult as the maps are quite large in scale.
As soon as you drop into a match, your first focus should be to go out of the building you spawned in and look around the sky. The ARC Surveyor has a habit of sending out a beacon, and this shows up as a blue light touching the sky. However, this doesn’t persist as the beacon will go on and off.
If you manage to spot it through this beacon, make your way in that general direction, and soon you should come up to its location. Going over the loadout, when it comes to the Augment, you don’t need to take a high-level one because you don’t really need that many Quick Slots. Even a Looting MK1 should be more than enough.
Due to the sheer number of grenades and utility items like mines available in the game, you can make easy work of these Surveyors. Now, there are two ways to destroy the Surveyors in seconds. The first is to bring Showstopper Grenades. These grenades emit an electric pulse that temporarily immobilizes the machine, allowing you approximately 10 seconds to damage it. You can then follow up with either weapon fire or use a different grenade, like sticking a few Snap Blast Grenades or throwing a Blaze Grenade underneath it, so it burns constantly.
Other grenades, like Trigger Nades or Trailblazer, work in the same way, so you have a lot of options when it comes to these explosive items. For the second method, you will only be changing the first part of the plan, which is to use a Showstopper Grenade. The Photoelectric Cloak is an item that allows players to get extremely close to the ARC enemies without them spotting you. This cloak works on all ARC enemies, so you can bring one and use it to get close to the Surveyor. Wait for it to go into its beacon form, and this is your chance to throw your grenades.
In the second method, you can ignore all the grenades and simply plant a single Deadline on it, which will make a lot of noise but should be enough to make quick work of it. If you are planning on shooting it instead, you will need a fast-firing weapon that has high ARC penetration. The Renegade and Venator are great options that don’t use that much ammunition.
As the ARC Surveyor takes damage, it will lose the armored shell around its body, and pieces will drop off that you can loot later. It will constantly try to move away as it does not deal any damage to the player. If you can manage to take it down, you will get a bunch of resources, including a lot of ARC Motion Cores and the ARC Surveyor, which is required for the quest.
