Rocket Launch Puzzle Solutions in BO7 Zombies

By newsgame

Progressing through the Ashes of the Damned easter egg can be a challenging time for all, especially for players who are on a step that involves a random puzzle. Within Black Ops 7 Zombies, players will reach a part in the main quest where they have to launch the rocket in the Cosmodrome, and doing so isn’t going to be that easy for players who don’t know what they’re looking for. Thankfully, we’ve translated the symbols, done the math, and figured out exactly how you can launch the rocket in Ashes of the Damned so that you won’t have to use much brain power, allowing you a quick solution so you can get back to slaying zombies and completing the easter egg.

Things You Need to Do First in Ashes of the Damned (BO7 Zombies)

Ashes of the Damned is an expansive Zombies map in Black Ops 7, so if you want to get the best start possible, see our step-by-step below.

How to Prep the Rocket for Launch in Ashes of the Damned

To start, you’re going to first have to acquire the DG-2 Turret Barrel upgrade for Ol’ Tessie via the first steps of the main easter egg. This is a lengthy quest in which you have to acquire the Necrofluid Gauntlet (click here for the quest) and then collect the Serum ingredients and complete the Serum puzzle (click here for the quest). After, you’ll be able to collect 3 keys (click here for the quest). After doing so, you will be able to collect the DG-2 Turret Barrel, and you can use it on Ol’ Tessie to shoot the floating clock tower in Ashwood. The clock tower will activate and glow, and now you can shoot it with your Necrofluid Gauntlet and reload. Doing so correctly will see your weapon turn spectral and purple. Now, it’s time to head to the Zarya Cosmodrome, where the rocket is located.

You can either take Ol’ Tessie southeast of Ashwood, or use the Jump Pad located up the stairs near Double Tap Root Beer to get here faster.

Now that you’re in Zarya Cosmodrome, use the spectral-charged shot of the Necrofluid Gauntlet on the array towers found when looking northwest and northeast. These array towers will be spinning extremely fast, and shooting one of them while the Necrofluid Gauntlet has the charge from the clock tower will slow it down. After shooting one, return to Ashwood and get another charge from the clock tower, and shoot the second array.

How to Solve the Rocket Launch Puzzle in Ashes of the Damned

With both array towers shot, you can enter the Control Room in Zarya Cosmodrome, where Wisp Tea is located, and to the north wall, you will find two screens that flash 6 unique symbols. These symbols spell one of four words. The solution is to use Pigpen cipher translations to find out what word you have, and then, using the alphabet, translate each letter into a number starting with 00 for A, and ending with 25 for Z. To avoid you having to do all the work, we’ve listed all possible words in the image above, and in text below, along with their symbol translations and the numbers you need to remember:

  • FE-LU-□>: ROCKET: 17-14-02-10-10-04-19
  • LJ-□-LN: LAUNCH: 11-00-20-13-02-07
  • Y□-J|-CO: WEAPON: 22-04-00-15-14-14
  • □□-”||”-□□: ENGINE: 04-13-06-08-13-04

After looking at the terminal and finding whether your symbols translate to Rocket, Launch, Weapon, or Engine, you will find 6 distinct terminals on the northwest side of the Control Room, each with flashing numbers. You must then spell your word with the numbers by stopping the numbers on screen by shooting the red button on each computer terminal. For example, if your word is ROCKET (symbols start with FE), then you will want to shoot the computer terminal on the left when the numbers are 17, as your first letter will be ‘R’, which (if the alphabet starts with A as 00), will make ‘R’ = 17. Following this method, your total set of numbers (from left to right) will be 17-14-02-10-10-04-19. Above, we’ve outlined what each set of symbols translates to, so you will easily be able to find both your word and the numbers you need to input.

If you enter the wrong set of numbers, then you will need to retry the launch sequence in the next round, including the part where you have to shoot the array towers. A successful completion occurs after inputting the correct numbers, and the zombies will despawn, and the rocket will launch into the air.
