Lord of Hatred’s Skovos Map May Look Like

By newsgame

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred‘s map of the new region Skovos may have leaked online, with a new image surfacing showcasing a never-before-seen look at the region. While Diablo 4 has confirmed that the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion is taking players to Skovos, a region yet to appear in the series proper, details about the layout of the map itself have not been officially shared. There is no official confirmation of this map’s authenticity, but it matches up nicely with what has already been shared about the expansion.

In Diablo lore, Skovos is a crucial location within the greater world of Sanctuary, said to be the location where Lilith and Inarius created the nephalem that would later become humanity. As such, Skovos is steeped in ancient tradition and is home to the Askari civilization, from which the iconic Diablo 2 Amazon class comes. Although Skovos is mentioned throughout the Diablo series, it has never appeared as a playable location, leaving fans to speculate about what the region will actually look like in-game.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Skovos Map Seemingly Leaked Online

Posted to Reddit by user SheWhoHates, an article on the German website GameStar includes an image of what appears to be the in-game map of Skovos from Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. The post goes over the publicly available details of the upcoming expansion, but the inclusion of this image appears to be new. A reverse search of the image doesn’t yield any other results, pointing to the GameStar article as the only source, leaving the authenticity of the map in question.

However, as user SheWhoHates points out, there is a key connection between this leaked map and the map shown on the official Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred page for the new War Plans mechanic. Comparing these two map layouts shows that they are almost identical, lending credence to the authenticity of the newly leaked one. Without any other source to verify its authenticity, the map included in GameStar’s article should still be treated as unverified until Blizzard officially confirms it.

The leaked image includes a breakdown of Skovos into 7 sub-regions, including:

  • Philios
  • Temis
  • Lycander
  • Athulua
  • Atanos
  • Celestia
  • Skartara

Previous renderings of the map of Sanctuary show Skovos having the islands of Philios, Lycander, and Skartara contained within the island chain. However, this new map includes the locations Temis, Athulua, Atanos, and Celestia, further supporting the idea that this is a new incarnation of the region designed specifically for Lord of Hatred.

There is still the possibility that this is a fan-made map, as it does differ from past renderings of Skovos in a significant way. According to the map of Sanctuary shown in The Book of Lorath sourcebook from the Horadric Vault series, Skovos is much less connected, with Philios, Lycander, and Skartara being completely separate islands. However, in this newly leaked image, Skovos appears as one big, interconnected island with these new sub-regions connecting the previously known islands, suggesting a major shift in canon if this image is indeed real.

While Blizzard has shared a great deal of information about the upcoming Lord of Hatred DLC, the exact details of features like the map of Skovos and the mysterious second new playable class have been kept under lock and key. Since the reveal of the expansion at The Game Awards 2025 and subsequent shadow drop of the Paladin class for Diablo 4 Season 11, there haven’t been many more details shared either officially or via leaks. As Lord of Hatred’s April 28 launch date draws nearer, Diablo 4 fans can likely expect to hear more about what the expansion will have in store in the near future.
