How To Destroy Vines to Access Underground Caves in StarRupture

By newsgame

StarRupture has many surprises for those who enjoy exploring, some of which could end up killing them if they’re not careful. Underground Caves are among the most interesting POIs to explore, with lots of valuable materials, like Quartz, and rare Plant Species to craft advanced consumables. Plus, many hidden treasure lies inside these dark tunnels, the problem is: how to access them.

If players have stumbled upon these strange vines covering the entrance to an Underground Cave in Arcadia-7 and want to know what the secret is to unblocking these, then they’ve come to the right place. Here’s how to access Underground Caves in StarRupture.

How To Unblock Cave Entrances in StarRupture

While navigating the map of Arcadia-7 players will encounter a small round icon that indicates there’s an entrance ot an Underground Cave nearby, but the problem is that these will most likely be blocked by a growth of vines. Players might have experienced this several times, and grow frustrated as they try to throw grenades or use the Extractor on them. Nothing seems to work.

Luckily, the solution is far simpler than it seems. Players need to wait for a Rupture to wipe all life (including vines) on the planet, then go out to explore. This means that caves are only open during a brief window of time while the effects of the Rupture Wave pass.

Life in Arcadia-7 grows back real fast (in a matter of minutes), so players need to time their exploration of the caves carefully, as if they descend and remain for too long underground, vines will grow back and block their way out.

That also applies to the time window players have to search and descend into these caves, though there’s a solution for that: Build a small base with a Habitat near a cave, and wait for a Rupture to happen there. Once the surface of the plane reaches an ‘acceptable temperature’ (according to GAL), players will be able to leave their shelter and dive into the nearby cave.

Make sure to collect all plant life samples inside this cave network, as these are valuable not only as components of the best recipes in the game, but also a decent source of Data Points if players are in a pinch and need to raise their reputation with the Corporations really fast.

Players can also find Quartz below ground, so keep a close eye to these valuable crafting components. Take as many of them as possible before going back for an early kickstart of the late-game material crafting and recipe unlocks.

Finally, pay attention to the corpses of calcinated colonists; they’re both a warning (don’t try to wait for a Rupture inside the cave) and a source of important materials, items, and special currencies like the War Bonds, which are extremely scarce on the surface.

All of these rewards and more await those who risk delving into the intricate network of Underground Caves. Just make sure you and your party evacuate as fast as possible before the planet restores its plant life, and the exit closes.
