How to Get Wolfram Powder in StarRupture
Pretty much all of your time in StarRupture is going to revolve around finding resources and making different products out of them. While some are straightforward to make during the early hours of the game, others take a little bit more time to figure out or unlock the process to make them. Wolfram Powder is one such product, requiring players to progress their relationship with one of the corporations to unlock a specific structure used in the process. In this guide, I’ll explain how to get Wolfram Powder in StarRupture, so you can carry on adventuring across Arcadia-7.

How to Get Wolfram Powder
Wolfram Powder is made by putting Wolfram Bars into a Furnace. This, however, means you’ll need at least three structures in the process, with a fourth required if you want to send the Wolfram Powder to one of the corporations. Let’s run through the process below.
First, you need to place an Ore Extractor on a Wolfram ore deposit. These can be identified by looking for a bronze color on the surface of a planet. Place the extractor on the deposit, and ensure you connect some power to it. This should begin producing Wolfram ore.
Next, build a smelter and connect your extractor to it with a rail. Make sure there is sufficient power to both structures (place another solar generator if not), and then interact with the smelter. You should be able to choose to produce Wolfram Bars from the smelter. As long as everything is correct, you should now start seeing Wolfram ore moving from the extractor to your smelter via the rail.
Finally, you need to use another rail to connect a furnace to your smelter. The furnace can only be unlocked by reaching level 4 with the Selenian Corporation. This is done by building up 6,400 points with them. I chose to use Titanium Sheets to reach this reputation level with them, as it was the easiest material to mass-produce at my first base.
If you want to speed up the leveling process, you can always use the screen in your habitat to send Data Points to a corporation. If you have a lot of these, you can almost immediately level up a corporation during the early hours.
Connect the furnace to your smelter and make sure you place another solar generator down to provide enough power to all of the structures. When this is done, interact with the furnace, and you’ll be able to select Wolfram Powder from the options menu.
It’s worth noting that you can always place Wolfram Bars in a furnace that isn’t connected to an extractor placed on a Wolfram ore deposit if you only want a small amount of powder and don’t want it to be constantly produced until you otherwise change what the furnace makes.
Wolfram Powder will come in particularly useful as you start to explore more of Arcadia-7, as it’s required to make Assault Rifle ammo. While the pistol will serve you well initially, you’ll definitely want weapons with more firepower later in the game.
