How to Get Medtool & Heal Yourself in StarRupture

The planet of Arcadia-7 is full of vermin and other hazards that can chip away at your health if you’re not careful in StarRupture. Whether it’s being caught off guard by a heatwave that obliterates you, heading out too soon after one, or just getting swarmed by some vermin and taking too many hits, there are plenty of ways you can die or lose significant health. As such, you’ll find yourself needing to heal from time to time, and that’s where the Medtool comes in handy. Here’s how to get the Medtool in StarRupture to easily heal yourself without having to use your precious food and hydration supplies.

The Medtool is unlocked by reaching level 3 with the Future Health Solutions corporation. This is done by first completing the first task for the corporation from an Orbital Cargo Launcher. This requires you to send them 200 Wolfram Bars, which are created by placing an ore extractor on a Wolfram Ore deposit, connecting this to a smelter with a rail, and connecting this to the Orbital Cargo Launcher to easily complete the task.

Once this is done, you’ll need to complete the second task for Future Health Solutions by sending them Wolfram Wire and Wolfram Bars. Wolfram Bars can be created just as before, while Wolfram Wire requires you to connect your smelter to a Fabricator. On your Fabricator, select the Wolfram Wire recipe and then connect this to your Orbital Cargo Launcher to start sending it to Future Health Solutions.

Wolfram Bars will see you make slower progress as they only contribute 1 towards the 1,500 required to reach level 3. On the other hand, Wolfram Wire will get you five per wire that you send, so this will help you complete the task faster, but requires more setting up of your structures and machines to create it.

After completing this task, return to the Corporate Terminal and redeem your level 3 rewards from the Future Health Solutions corporation, which is the very useful Medtool.

Don’t Forget to Charge It!

The Medtool can first only be used when it is fully charged. It can only be charged by killing Vermin (read: enemies), taking damage, and collecting plants. When it’s fully charged and you’re ready to use it, press H to equip it. You can then use the medtool on yourself, or aim it at a fellow player and press LMB to use it to heal them.

The Medtool is particualrly useful as it allows you to heal yourself without needing to use any food or hydration supplies. While you’ll need to manage your hunger and thirst meters, if these are both full but you’re low on health, you don’t want to be using your food and water unnecessarily. The Medtool also gives a much larger and faster boost of health, making it the preferred option when taking on large amounts of Vermin when you’re busy exploring the map or trying to gather new materials and objects for data points.
