How to Get More Healing items in Where Winds Meet

By newsgame

Combat in Where Winds Meet is fast and oftentimes unforgiving, and if you find yourself getting hit a lot, you’ll likely burn through your stock of medicine fairly quickly. Healing in this game isn’t free, and apart from being able to carry only a limited number of potions and medicine, you also need to worry about running out of healing items completely. In this guide, we’ll be going over how to increase your healing charges in Where Winds Meet as well as some ways on how to quickly and easily refill your medicine inventory.

You can increase the maximum amount of medicine you can carry at a time by collecting Medicinal Tales and giving them to Yaoyao at the Evercare Clinic. By default, healing items cap out at just 1 charge, and to refill your charges, you need to rest at a Boundary Stone.

Speak with Yaoyao, then choose the Submit Medicinal Tale option. You’ll need several Medicinal Tales to upgrade your Medicine Chest. You’re going to need a ton of Medicinal Tales to fully upgrade your healing items, with a Rank 13 Medicine Chest requiring a whopping 90 Medicinal Tales in total. You can get Medicinal Tales by completing certain quests, claiming Exploration rewards, fighting world bosses, and clearing dungeons.

You’ll get more healing item charges once you reach specific Medicine Chest Ranks (3 charges at Rank 5, 4 charges at Rank 8, 5 charges at Rank 11), and in the between those ranks, you’ll either get increased healing potency or additional benefits, such as damage reduction after using a potion or a heal-over-time effect.

If you have different healing items in your inventory, the game will automatically equip another one when one of them runs out during a fight.

Unlike Soulslike games where resting at a fast travel point replenishes all your healing charges, you’ll need to either buy or craft medicine in Where Winds Meet. You could have 99 of a healing item in your inventory, but you can only carry up to a maximum of 5 at once. When you rest at a Boundary Stone, you automatically take some medicine from your storage and add it to your Medicine Chest (think Bloodborne and its vials).

You can buy the basic Hemostatic Powder item from Xiong Da, the peddler at Heaven’s Pier. If you want crafting materials for Hemostatic Powder, you’ll need Herbs and Meat Scraps, both of which can be bought from the Qinghe General Goods Vendor at Harvestfall Village. Kaifeng’s vendors also sell these items. You can buy up to 99 items per week at these vendors.

The game will tell you where to get Herbs and Meat Scraps in the world. Just click/select the items from any menu.
