All Degree Cheat Codes in The Sims 4
In The Sims 4, players can send their Sims to university if they own the Discover University expansion pack. There are two universities in Britechester, which they gain access to with the pack. They can either study at Foxbury Institute or the University of Britechester. Foxbury is more modern, while Britechester is old-school.
The Sims 4: Research and Debate Skill Guide
This guide tells players what they need to know about the Research and Debate Skill in The Sims 4, including all unlockables and cheat codes.
Both schools have the same subjects available, but only one school offers its distinguished variety. Sims with high skill levels can get accepted into distinguished degrees at a school, but if not, they will have to take the course at the opposite university. Players who want to acquire their degrees in a flash can simply use cheat codes to obtain them. However, each cheat code will depend on whether they want to get a normal degree or a distinguished degree, and whether they want their Sims to obtain the degree with honours or not. This guide explains how players can get each type of degree in The Sims 4 and how to easily get them through cheats.
How to Enable Degree Cheats
The Discover University expansion pack has dozens of cheats that players can use to help them make their way through college in The Sims 4, whether in secret societies or while taking their degrees. However, like most official cheats in the game, they can be activated with cheat codes. Therefore, in order to use them, players have to first enable cheats and then insert the right codes into the cheat console.
To enable cheats in The Sims 4, players have to open the cheat console by pressing Shift + Ctrl + C on a keyboard or all bumpers on a controller and then inputting the code “testingcheats on“.
How Degree Cheats Work in The Sims 4
The first process of obtaining a university degree in the Sims 4 is to get accepted into a university. Both universities in Britechester provide access to the same subjects. However, they specialize in the opposite subjects. This means that if the University of Britechester has a distinguished degree, Foxbury will have the standard degree in this matter and vice versa.
To get accepted to take a distinguished degree, players must excel at the skill associated with it. For example, to take a distinguished villainy course, players must have a high Mischief Skill. Otherwise, they will have to take the standard degree instead. Unfortunately, there is no cheat to get a Sim accepted into a university; the only degree cheats in The Sims 4 are the ones that automatically grant the Sim a degree. However, players can easily guarantee that their Sim gets accepted into their preferred university by increasing their skills using cheat codes. We have a detailed guide that provides all skill cheat codes available in The Sims 4 so players can easily make this happen.
There are 13 different subjects for players to study at university in The Sims 4, and players have to take into consideration what type of degree they want their Sims to get when they activate the cheat. There is a cheat code formula that players can use to easily obtain a degree of their choice, but we’ve written them down below so gamers can copy-paste them onto the cheat console and enable them without a problem.
Players can easily cheat for each university degree without looking up a code if they understand the basics of the cheat’s formula:
- The base for the degree cheat formula is “traits.equip_trait trait_university_“.
- Then, players must continue to add to it according to the subject that they would like their Sim to be proficient in. So, if they were to obtain a degree in Economics, we would add that to the code, so we’d have “traits.equip_trait trait_university_EconomicsDegree“.
- Next, we must specify whether it’s a standard or a distinguished degree, and either add BA or BS to the code, making it “traits.equip_trait trait_university_EconomicsDegreeBS” (standard) or “traits.equip_trait trait_university_EconomicsDegreeBA” (distinguished). The code is now ready to be inserted into the cheat console to grant the Sim the desired degree.
- Players who want their Sims to have completed university with honors can add this information to the code, so the final result would be: “traits.equip_trait trait_university_EconomicsDegreeBSHonors” or “traits.equip_trait trait_university_EconomicsDegreeBAHonors“.
However, players must keep in mind that these cheats are only trait cheats, which means that when they’re activated, they simply assign a trait to a Sim so the game believes that they’ve obtained a certain degree. Therefore, if the Sim is currently taking a degree and the player uses the cheat that grants them that degree, it won’t auto-complete their university course. They can continue to attend class and take the degree, even though they technically already have it.
These traits are useful, as when Sim is ready to look for a new career, they can start careers that they’ve specialized in ahead of others. When players have a standard degree, they will start a career at Level 6. If it’s with honors, they’ll start at Level 7. When they have a distinguished degree, they begin at Level 7. And if it’s a distinguished degree with honors, they will start at Level 8.

Most careers are associated with one of the skills that are taught in classes when taking these degrees, allowing players to get a head start when they’re trying to start a career. However, that is not the case with the Mixologist Career. Players will have to attend Mixology Skill classes if they want to acquire a Mixology Certification and easily make their way up the Mixologist career ladder.
Thankfully, there is a cheat for this as well. Players who own the Discover University expansion pack for The Sims 4 can get the Mixology Certification and start the Mixologist Career ahead by inserting the code “traits.equip_trait trait_university_BartenderDegree” into the cheat console. When players join the Mixologist Career after getting the certification, they will start at Level 6, just like if they had a standard degree.
