The characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley sure do love their treasure hunts, with multiple of their friendship quests sending the player on an excursion around the valley to dig up buried secrets. As the player gets to better know its residents, they will often be sent around the valley to dig up hidden items using the Royal Shovel.

Scrooge McDuck, of course, is very interested in treasure too. He’s convinced there’s something valuable buried somewhere in the valley and wants your help finding it. Here’s how you can unlock The Treasure Hunt quest and start searching for the mysterious treasure in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Many quests have you searching for hidden items across different areas, and the game also runs special Treasure Hunt events that last for a few days. This Treasure Hunt quest has two parts. One unlocks when you reach friendship level 8, and the second becomes available at level 10. We have updated this guide to include the exact locations of the memories and some other helpful details.

How to Unlock The Treasure Hunt in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Treasure Hunt quest is unlocked upon reaching Friendship Level 8 with Scrooge McDuck and having finished his previous quest, “What’s Bad for the Business,” which is unlocked at Friendship Level 6. This quest follows up on the mystery of the strange gold coin received from the sea witch Ursula in the previous quest.

How to Complete The Treasure Hunt Quest in Dreamlight Valley

To start the quest “The Treasure Hunt” in Disney Dreamlight Valley, the player should head to Scrooge McDuck, who, as always, can be found in his store. After speaking with him, he shares his theory that the golden coin he received from Ursula is proof that there is treasure buried somewhere in the Village.

He gives the player the coin for further investigation. The player should use the coin from their inventory, causing it to transform into a Memory Shard. Using the Memory Shard from their inventory unlocks a Memory featuring three photos of different biomes in Dreamlight Valley, indicating where the player should visit to locate the clues.

How to Find All Memories for Treasure Hunt in DDV

After opening the memory, you talk to Scrooge, and he explains that the next step is to visit a few specific spots around the valley and look for clues. These are the places you need to check.

Glade of Trust – Locate and dig at the sparkling dig site on the eastern side of the large lake situated at the top of the biome.
Merlin’s House – Inside Merlin’s House, collect the note from the floor in front of his desk.
Dazzle Beach – Locate and dig at the sparkling dig site on the eastern side of the beach, in front of the ramp leading into the Forest of Valor.

When you get there, you’ll need to use your Royal Shovel to dig out the memories. Look for the shiny, sparkling spots on the ground, as that’s where the memories are hidden.

Once the player has retrieved each of the three clues, they should return to Scrooge McDuck and hand over the items. He tells the player he will investigate further to determine their next steps to locating this mysterious hidden treasure. This completes the quest “The Treasure Hunt” in Disney Dreamlight Valley, with the next quest, The Treasure Hunt Part 2, unlocking at Friendship Level 10 with Scrooge McDuck.
